From the archives â me during my pre-degree days at Arts College.
The first International Film Festival organized by the Kerala University Union at the time, chaired by Suresh Kurup, made cinema my first love.
My journey into international cinema began with The Silence by Ingmar Bergman.
I owe my film career to the Kerala University Union â forever grateful. đđ˝đ
I had the opportunity to meet and work with Sri Manikandan, a filmmaker from Chennai. What a brilliant first AD he isâhis commitment and sincerity truly amazed me.
Working with Manikandan and his team also reminded me of the disciplined workflow of the old production housesâa culture I was trained in and deeply value, but one that is rarely seen in the industry today. I truly enjoyed revisiting that experience.
Great going, Mani. Thank you so much, and my best wishes to you. đ
We had an idea â one that stepped outside the usual.
We shared it with the right kind of creators, and they came together in the true spirit of collaboration â to discuss, contribute, and shape it into something meaningful.
What followed was a beautiful example of creative synergy.
I salute each one of them â for showing up with open hearts and the willingness to create together.

A MOMENT that hides more than it shows.
Two key minds â Priyadarshan and Lal â are missing in the photograph⌠yet, they were right there.
The REAL STORY ?
It lives just beyond the frame.đ
Some moments carry a quiet sense of wonderâand yesterday in Kochi was one of them.
Meeting Satyan Anthikad sir was more than an encounter with a celebrated filmmaker; it was a reminder of how warmth and humility can define greatness.
For many of us who once dreamed of cinema, his films were guiding lightsâstories that made the art of storytelling feel both meaningful and within reach.
Iâm especially grateful when I think back to my early days, fresh out of college, when I had the privilege of sitting in on story discussions with Satyettan and Sreenivasan whenever they were in Trivandrum. Those moments didnât just shape my careerâthey shaped the way I understand the craft itself.
To meet him again now, after all these years, for a meaningful conversation feels like life coming full circle.
Some memories donât fadeâthey deepen, growing richer with time
Best wishes to the team of Patriot!
Wishing the cast and crew a fantastic release dayâmay your passion and hard work shine on the big screen and captivate audiences everywhere. đ
Iâm delighted to share that my brother TK Sajeev Kumar, received the SND ( Society for News Design ) Presidentâs Award from President Jon Wile today in Singapore.
The Society for News Design (SND) United States, ( Greensboro, NC, North Kingstown) is an international organization for news media professionals and visual communicators â specifically those who create print/web/mobile publications and products
Proud to note that this is the first time an Indian has received this award. đđ˝đ
Dear AmanikkaâŚ
It still feels unreal that you are no longer around, that the spaces you once filled with your warmth and quiet strength now carry only memories.
I first met you at Navodaya Studios, when I walked in as an assistant director with Jijo âuncertain, hopeful, and searching for my place. You were already there⌠steady, passionate, and deeply in love with cinema. Not just as a craft, but as a way of life.
You always carried the heart of an actor. I know how much you longed to shine on screen, to live a thousand lives through characters. But life had its own script for you. You became the Art Director of Navodaya Studiosâyet you were never limited by a title. Your passion and commitment made you a true all-rounder, someone who understood cinema in its entirety.
To me, you were much more than a colleague.
You were a mentorâŚ
You were a safe placeâŚ
You were a guiding hand when I didnât know where to go.
You welcomed me with such genuine warmth, as if I had always belonged. In moments when I felt overwhelmed, when emotions took over, you were the one who calmed me, grounded me, and gave me strength. You held me together through phases when I might have fallen apart.
Looking back, I realize how much of my journey carries your imprint.
I truly owe you so muchâyour love, your sincerity, your quiet belief in me. You are one of the people who shaped me into the filmmaker I am today.
Some people pass through our lives.
But a few⌠become part of who we are.
You are one of them, Amanikka. đđ˝â¤ď¸
And you always will be.
In this photograph stands Ramunni â the younger of the Ambalapuzha Brothers, the man who once became Kummatti in Kummatty, shaped by the magic of G. Aravindan and Kavalam Narayana Panicker.
But to us, he was never just a figure on screen.
â¨He was Kummatti in the truest sense â a bringer of wonder, laughter, and quiet wisdom to every child in our large, loving family.
Even now, I feel blessed by Ramunnichittappanâs presence each day ââ¨as a storyteller who turns ordinary moments into magic,â¨as a gentle guide who teaches me to move forward without disappointment,â¨and as a constant reminder that the childlike spirit he carried still lives on in all of us.â¤ď¸
