Here’s a little backstory and info about why I love tattooing Greyhounds/Whippets/sighthounds in general. 😂 If you didn’t already know, I currently have a Whippet - Fettuccine and a Greyhound - Nina (who is actually my partners but I’ve taught Nina how to wrestle, sooo who’s the real owner?) I have been lucky enough to have a house full of greyhounds since I was 9/10, thanks to mum, we were going to the Melbourne show on the train and a lovely man had two greyhounds, I sat with them and my brother cuddling up while mum was told about how they were rescued and how hard their lives were, mum being who she is was instantly ready to foster a hound there and then! We ended up with so many, we would go to sandown racecourse on Saturday mornings and pick up a new rescue, they were always named really simple names, if they were a sandy colour they were named sandy, if they were black they were named ebony or jet, if they were white, ivory 😂 you get the jist! Not much thought went into these lil pups. We fell in love with all of them and it was hard to let them go, but we eventually found our first foster fail, Charlotte, we got to name her, so mum and I named her after Good Charlotte. She was the best dog ever, we had her until I turned 19, she lived until 13 if my memory serves me right! It was really hard losing her, it took us a while to get back into the swing of things but then we found Tuddy, who became quite known for being such a big greyhound that he needed his own sizes with @houndtees thanks Jen. 😂 Tuddy is the hound tattooed on the first slide, he’s on mums leg! He was quite aloof, nothing phased him until he got his little brother fettuccine and they were in love. Eventually Tuddy grew old and passed away which was and still is hard. These hounds have such a way of sticking with us and creating amazing memories, I don’t know what life would be without them. ❤️ If you’ve read all that, thanks for reading, I just felt like I wanted to speak about the hounds for a little bit! Absolutely stoked to be back at work, I get tired a lot easier and I’m a little slower, but I’m sure that won’t be for too much longer! Plus it’s always good to take your time tattooing, gotta remind myself that. 😅 I’m so used to being speedy mgee so I’ll probably beat myself up whenever a tattoo takes longer than an hour but today was peaceful and super easy, there’s no pain while tattooing which is amazing! A few of the commissions I’ve done in the past week! I’ve got a bunch more to do, once this round is over, I’ll open up commissions again in a couple weeks! Well good morning… I’ve had 4 tattoo cancellations this week, so my week is about to be incredibly boring if nobody fills those spots! I’d like to fill up that time by drawing…. DOGS!!!
