I was invited to speak on BBC about the situation in Ukraine.
The videos I’ve been sharing about daily life in Kyiv during the war have reached an international audience, and this time I had the chance to explain what Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have actually led to.
I spoke about what’s behind the headlines:
constant power outages,
cold homes and workplaces,
generators running in city yards,
and people adapting just to get through another day.
This isn’t abstract politics or numbers on a screen.
It’s everyday life for millions of people.
It matters to me that these stories are being heard outside Ukraine.
That real experiences — not propaganda — are reaching the world.
I’ll keep speaking.
Because silence is exactly what the aggressor counts on.
Got a call from the BBC 20 minutes before going live.
Zero prep.
I hate being unprepared.
Sat at the table like every Zoom interview ever.
What I was wearing below the frame —
you didn’t see.
And I didn’t say anything.
Or maybe I did.
Not sure anymore.
We talked about the situation in Ukraine right now.
The cold setting in.
Russian strikes on our energy system.
How the city survives.
And how I survive.
I’m lucky — I know that.
But I worry much more about those who don’t have that luck.
Elderly people.
Children.
Hospitals.
Kindergartens.
Thousands of homes without heat or electricity.
This is terrifying.
And I believe we need to talk about it more — here, on social media.
The more people know, the higher the chance that someone will be heard in the West.
That more help will come.
More air defense.
More pressure on Russia.
I believe there is real power in that.

We filmed together in @killhouse.movie
But today wasn’t a movie set.
Today we spent the day at a real training ground.
Funny how life works. You start by acting in a war movie…
and then one day you’re standing next to people living that reality every day.
This isn’t Hollywood.
This is modern Ukraine. 🇺🇦
He can’t show his face for obvious reasons, and honestly — that says enough about the reality people here live in every day.
Some people tell stories about war on screen.
Others quietly carry that reality in real life.
No fame. No interviews. No credit roll. Just courage.
Please send this man some positive vibes in the comments.
Some people deserve respect even if the world never knows their name. 🫡🇺🇦
P.S. Now I’m home already 😁🤙

Another sleepless night in Ukraine as Russian drones continue attacking cities across the country. I captured the moment a Russian drone was intercepted above Kyiv.
Today all over social media and Telegram channels, people are talking about a possible massive attack tonight — ballistic missiles and drones. Russia has been launching them very actively today already. As you can hear, this isn’t even the first air raid alert of the day. Our air defense forces keep shooting targets down, but the night is still ahead… and honestly, it’s hard to sleep when you live with this reality. Now you know.
