A week ago today, we lost our sweet, beautiful, and loving baby,
@kittykittynyc . I can’t find the words to describe how much this has shattered me or how deeply I miss her. 💔
Kitty came into our lives unexpectedly. We adopted her from
@bklynscott ‘s mom, who recently passed away. During COVID, Scott drove Kitty from Louisiana to NYC with the intention of finding her a new home (because we were dog people - or so we thought 🤦🏻♂️). But the moment she was with us, we couldn’t let her go. She stole our hearts, and just like that, we became proud cat people.
There are things about Kitty that only we—and those lucky enough to meet her—truly knew:
🐈⬛ She was effortlessly photogenic. 📸
🐦 She loved watching birds and chasing shadows.
🍑 “Booty Bops” were mandatory—morning, noon, and especially at night.
🎶 She has multiple #1 hit songs about her (written by us of course).
💃 She perfected the “death drop” (rolling onto her back to show off her belly).
🛌 She always slept on our legs—and more recently, curled up beside my head on my pillow.
🏡 She greeted us every time we walked through the door.
🐾 She had many nicknames: Mama, Kittisha, Baby, Kitty N Closet, KittyKitty…
🏥 She even made it into a research paper—our little pioneer in cat medicine.
💕 But most of all, she loved us in a way we never knew was possible. She strengthened Scott’s and my bond, and we consider her our soulmate.
Rest well, Mama. We wish we could have taken your pain away—we tried our best, baby. You were our little queen, and we’ll honor you every day by sharing love the way you so effortlessly did.
To know Kitty was to love Kitty. Forever in our little human hearts. 🐈⬛ 💖
