The B0X: Tjaša Cizej Sample, Draft —————————————— 02.06.2025 Werkplaats Typografie 2e Leeghwaterstraat 5B, 1018 RA Amsterdam —————————————— The concept of the exhibition centered on the idea of authorship and ownership, expressed through the creation of my own watermarks. Each design explored the visual language typically associated with digital watermarks—those often found on protected images or documents online. The forms, typefaces, patterns, and compositions were inspired by these digital marks but reimagined in a more physical, spatial context. The title Sample, Draft was drawn directly from the words commonly used in online watermarks—“Sample” or “Draft”—which frequently appear over images as a way to prevent unauthorized use.

• 100films 100posters 61 〈너와의 거리 D is for Distance〉 Design: Chaehee Park and Tjaša Cizej @tjasulla Film Director: Christopher Petit, Emma Matthews Finland, 2025 동시대 푸티지와 아카이브, 영화사를 몽타주로 엮은 필름 에세이인 ‘너와의 거리’는 탈진실(post-truth)의 시대에 대해 보여주는 동시에, 한 젊은 남성이 어린 시절 겪은 뇌전증이 어떻게 세상의 비애를 상징하게 되었는지, 그가 어떻게 역경을 극복했는지 묘사한다. ”More is known about the universe than the brain”. This sums up the situation of Louis Petit, sufferer of a rare, frighteningly debilitating form of complex epilepsy that shattered years of his young life and erased his memory of childhood. Louis’ parents, filmmakers Christopher Petit and Emma Matthews, tell Louis’ ongoing story through an extraordinary archive of footage that includes documentation of his seizures. The family finds itself up against the unbending bureaucracy of Britain’s inhumane health care regulations – and seeks provisional solutions elsewhere, including Rotterdam itself. Yet this is only one layer of a remarkable essay-collage. The father’s unmade film project concerning two Americans, writer William S. Burroughs and former CIA chief James Angleton – both addicted, obsessive and paranoid – provides a wider frame to explore the links between “technology and the subconscious”, capitalism and the “inner reality” of the mind. Using a stunningly edited array of film clips, art works (including Louis’ rich depictions of his “visionary” condition), sound textures and road movie travels, D is for Distance focuses simultaneously on the microcosm of personal pain and the macrocosm of social decline.
