From creatives to community leaders, we see you.
Holding culture. Creating space. Shifting narratives.
This is what it looks like when our people show up, with purpose, with passion, and for each other.

Tonight we gathered for Talanoa: Paint & Sip – Pasifika Climate Conversations 🌊🎨
This was an event brought together by @pacificclimatewarriors , CANA Australia, @tiv_creates and @aurosokwoproject 💕 .
What started as a simple idea became a space filled with creativity, honesty, and connection. From painting to sharing stories, we held space for conversations around climate, culture, and community in a way that felt grounding and real.
Pacific voices matter. Our stories matter. Our leadership matters.
A big thank you to everyone who came through and shared space with us 💛 And to our amazing facilitator, @tiv_creates , we’re so grateful for the care and energy you brought into the room.
This is just the beginning 🌿✨

I remember the night these were made, there was an old bottle of ink at the bottom of a wooden ikea crate underneath the desk I would paint at. I just had to get my thoughts out. So I drew using a dried paint brush until the floor of the cottage was covered in these ink drawings. There’s only one of each, I never took any scans. Send me a DM if you want to give a home to one of them 🫶🏽

Often when someone asks more about the deeper meaning behind my work or if there’s a connection between the art and the music, I hesitate because I haven’t fully grasped the meaning yet myself. The feeling is there, the spirit, a story told with colours and textures yet I’m still figuring out how to express it through English words.
The paintings are displayed Ships -> Boarded -> The Fields. Although it isn’t a linear story and the paintings have been displayed in different orders in different galleries. Some People got recycled in the plantation labour registers, many were lost, died, and some found their way home but were changed.
Dark Glitter Verse 2:
“I tell myself there’s more to this
So I’m not absorbed by the cause of this
Trauma bond with my work that’s what haunting is”
You can also hear the sound of ocean waves lapping against the shore in this verse, like the waves in the Ship painting.
Some parts of the paintings have washes of glitter that can only be seen from certain angles. The red holographic glitter in the ship is like a warning, like a direct contrast to the blue landscape.
When making the visual for Dark Glitter, I smothered blue holographic glitter on my neck, face and arms.
The body remembers and it’s hard to breathe when telling these stories. The only way to keep going is to remember this is part of something far bigger. Every truth spoken, is a sparkle in the dark. I wonder what will happen when all the collective sparkles punch through the darkness.
“They tried to bury us, but they didn’t know we were seeds.”

Love when artists develop a signature style and stick to it. I’ve been using blue a lot throughout the years but not intentionally including it as a continuation of style throughout my works. Might try being more intentional and see what happens 🤔🦪💙
