As part of @wuf_unhabitat , our Grade 4 students explored what it means to create more sustainable cities through hands-on activities, big questions, and student-led discussions linked to the SDGs. From identifying challenges in their own communities to imagining small actions with big impact, students stepped into their role as changemakers.
A huge thank you to the WUF13 workshop leaders for facilitating this session and helping inspire our young learners to see themselves as active contributors to positive change.

At TISA, our exhibitions are student planned and student led. Friday’s G11 CAS/TOK Exhibition was no exception — an example of students leading learning together.
As a midpoint showcase, the exhibition gave students the chance to reflect on their CAS journey so far, share experiences, and celebrate learning that is still ongoing.
A strength of the event was the way the grade level came together through collaboration, peer support, and shared responsibility.
A special thank you to Kashalata Inclusive Café for supporting the event by selling snacks and handmade crafts — and to their fabulous resident musician Ali Sahib, who played piano throughout the exhibition.
We also welcomed @ib.baccalaureate_132.134 staff and students

Our G8 World Languages students wrapped up their community engagement Heritage unit by sharing languages, cultures, and traditions with primary language classes through interactive activities and presentations. A wonderful celebration of identity, connection, and learning across grade levels.

The Grade 7 SDG Challenge is underway
Over the past weeks, students have been exploring how individuals and organisations in Azerbaijan are taking action towards the Sustainable Development Goals through authentic community-connected experiences.
A huge thank you to our community partners for giving their time, expertise, and energy to inspire our students:
Garden visits with Ms Vafa exploring sustainability, biodiversity, and food systems
Azerbaijani Socks — connecting entrepreneurship, local identity, and social impact
TISA parent community member involved with a local animal rescue centre — encouraging students to think more deeply about compassion, animal welfare, and community responsibility
Chef Yagub, Chef Elchin, and Chef Javid — leading sessions on sustainable cooking, farm-to-table practices, healthy eating, and the benefits of sourdough
These experiences are helping students begin thinking about the kinds of action they may take next year as part of their MYP Community Projects.
This is learning beyond the classroom. This is community.

At the heart of student organised Pink Out event was learning. Honoured to collaborate with GenderHub Azerbaijan and welcome Maryam Majidova and Dr. Khatin Salmanova. Powerful voices. Important conversations — around breast cancer awareness, stigma, and the importance of early detection.
A reminder that awareness isn’t just information — it’s responsibility. This is what learning beyond the classroom looks like. Grateful to our community partners for making this possible.
Pink Out tədbirinin mərkəzində öyrənmə dayanırdı.

What an incredible afternoon at TISA. 💗
Our Staff vs High School Awareness Volleyball Match brought people together through sport, connection, and shared purpose. An incredible collaboration between @tisa_azerbaijan and @genderhubazerbaijan
More than a game — this was belonging in action.
A huge shoutout to our incredible student team for their leadership and drive in making this happen.
Thank you to everyone who played, supported, and showed up — this is what community looks like.

Staff vs HS Student Awareness Volleyball Match at TISA
Using sport to raise awareness, build solidarity, and stand for dignity, respect and safety for all. More than a game — an opportunity to learn, connect and be part of positive change.
We’re excited to collaborate with GenderHub Azerbaijan, a local organisation advancing gender equality and awareness. We’re honoured to welcome guest speakers Maryam Majidova and Dr. Khatin Salmanova to help deepen learning around breast cancer awareness and women’s health.
Fabulous morning with our Grade 7s exploring farm-to-table and local produce with Chef Yagub, and diving into the health benefits of sourdough with Chef Elchin and Javid
Real learning, real skills, real connections as part of their SDG Challenge.
