The cast aluminum mechanical joints are a defining element of the exhibition design we developed for INSIEME, a project conceived and curated by @sabato.desarno produced and presented by @vanityfairitalia at Piscina Cozzi. The system, used in entrance walls, display platforms, and film curtains, reinterprets the construction language of the 1930s swimming pool, turning it into a design feature that recalls the memory of the place and the fluidity of water. The bases, inspired by workshop sculpture pallets, use rivets as structural joints connecting aluminum crossbars to textured wooden surfaces. Satin, butter-toned printed films layer the space and, connected the bottom with male/female screw rivets that also act as tension weights, filter and partially reveal the works through a soft blur effect. Materials include textured microcement wooden panels, cast aluminum joints, printed satin films, and 80×80 mm aluminum profiles. Exhibition design for Insieme, a project conceived and curated by @sabato.desarno produced and presented by @vanityfairitalia Yellow marks a threshold, a point of transition where matter and time become legible. Passage becomes experience: material accumulates layers and traces, narrating the slow, stratified flow of time in space. For Insieme, we chose to set the twelve artisanal excellences through an immersive and multisensory experience, engaging sight, sound, and touch to reveal what usually remains unseen: process, waiting, concentration, and even error. The project interprets these elements as both a material and metaphorical space, a stratification that unfolds as a journey into matter itself and the human labor that shapes it. The installation is defined by a rigorous spatial structure, articulated through layers of material: suspended, opaline “skins” are counterbalanced by fluid aluminum elements. Together, they evoke the processes of subtraction and accumulation within matter, becoming both threshold and presence, and shaping an intimate, introspective spatial dimension. This approach informs the arrangement of the works and their dialogue with one another, creating a path articulated into thematic clusters: Water, Identity, Sign, Surfaces, Territory, and Memory. Exhibition Design designed for Insieme, a project curated by @sabato.desarno and presented by @vanityfairitalia The exhibition concept of INSIEME is based on the idea of layering: layering of experience, labor, and knowledge. This principle is reflected both in the exhibition layout, through the design of the visitor flow, and in the interplay of the materials used. Central to the project is the study of the historic venue hosting the exhibition: Gli spogliatoi di Piscina Cozzi. This space, rich in memory and architectural identity, becomes an integral part of the narrative. Its features are reinterpreted in the composition of the exhibition walls, turning the site itself into an active element of the show. Ceracqua collection designed and produced exclusively for the @nilufargallery Each piece emerges from this delicate encounter, suspended between spontaneity and intention, recalling the mythic birth of red coral from Medusa’s blood drops solidified upon touching the sea. As matter solidifies into organic, flowing silhouettes, these one-of-a-kind candleholders evoke mineral fragments, abyssal formations, and distant landscapes. Created in foundry wax and cast in bronze through the lost-wax process, every object is hand-finished, becoming a unique bronze design piece, the result of a spontaneous and unpredictable process, where poetic gesture meets contemporary design.
