As a musician, you never know when your last gig with someone is going to be the last gig. You come across so many different personalities and so many different walks of life, and you realize that the good ones are far and few in between. Jay Waters
@j_waters92 was one of the absolute best on every level.
This world had a man that was extremely talented and as much as he was a world-class performer, Jay was ten times more a humble and peaceful soul. He added an element of musicianship and showmanship to every band that he’s ever sat on the set for that will never be replaced, and outside of the gig, he brought people joy through laughter and comfort. Jay was a man that made it impossible to be angry around. He was loved by thousands of people and admired by many more. I ask all of you to pray for his family, his brother Joshua Reynolds, Leigha Kai, all of his staff and students at Hattiesburg High, and his band families with GOT Groove, B.E. Collective, and Retro Punkz.
Jay, you know how I felt about you and I’ll try and keep the rest of this short. I’m really gonna miss the hits on Bourbon, the fly outs, the road trips, our talks about marching band, your easygoing demeanor…. Ima miss YOU, big dawg! Thank you for helping out my little band in Italy, thank you for inspiring me to play smarter and not harder, thank you for your innovation on the drums, and thank you for being an easy person to be around. I love you so much, fam. Rest easy with God and I’ll catch you on that next level. One more time from Big Tip…YOU A BAD MF!!! 🕊️🕊️💔💔
