Taking a break from portfolio posts to talk a bit about the children's book I illustrated which will be out in less than 2 months!!
I've shared in stories but I I've never actually taken the chance to talk about what an opportunity like this means to me. When @thirdstatebooks first reached out, I had my doubts about being a good fit for illustrating this book. But once I heard the premise, about a young boy who navigates finding joy in creating art that not everyone understands, and about Third State Book's dedication to uplifting AAPI voices in the book publishing world, I knew I couldn't turn this down.
And I'm so glad I didn't let my own self-imposed doubt win.

As I'm currently not working, I have a bit of time on my hands so I'm opening up commissions and donating 100% of the proceeds to World Central Kitchen! It's a win - win - win situation!
How it works:
There are two commission options.
1. Pet Sketches
2. Family Illustrations
I've included certain conditions for each type, but in both cases, you'll receive a digital file ONLY. I will include the original Photoshop compatible PDF as well as the JPG (and whatever formatting you need it in). You should have your commission in two weeks or less!
You can do anything with it after that; print it on some cardstock, make a keychain, the background on your phone, possibilities are endless!
My heart breaks for the devastation and the effects of this tragedy will be felt for years to come. As I'm writing this, the fires still rage but seeing the community, the heroes and the world coming together has been a balm. Thank you for helping me help others.
my 2025 ins + outs for my bujo!
I knew 2025 would be a strange (understatement) year so I've been using the past few weeks to reflect and refresh all the systems I've been using up til this point. I'm going to try harder than ever to build on what I have, while recognizing that I am still a work in progress.
my mantra this year:
savor the good times and embrace the bad ones, for they bring the opportunities to adapt and grow ✨
