we will sell some seedlings at markets, but this is the best time to come shop for the most variety.
We’ve been busy starting all the first seedlings for the season! It’s always exciting to see the greenhouse fill up and watch the seedlings grow. The cats have been working hard too, protecting them from chipmunks and mice! In the next couple weeks we’ll be getting a lot of these plants in the ground and then on to the next round!

it’s finally spring!!! while Todd & Loren have been taking care of the farm, planning, and moving, this is what the rest of us were up to over winter.

Love vegetables and flowers? Join the TSF crew for the 2026 season! We’re looking to hire the following positions starting in April:
Vegetable field and production crew - full time with at least 1 full season of experience preferred. Must love dirt and the grind. Responsible for everything from seedling care to harvest and post harvest packing- this is a physical and fast paced role. We’re a small but mighty crew!
Farmers market crew - part time, experience a + but not necessary. Must be friendly, reliable, able to lift heavy produce/set up/ tear down/ pack up and be ready to talk to the locals about our products and the farm. We have markets on Tues, Sat, and Sun. Could be combined with a Wash/pack role for more hours.

What have we been up to the last couple weeks? Starting our first seeds of the 2026 season of course! … things like onions, cabbage, kale, salad greens, herbs, and all the cold hardy FLOWERS like sweet peas, feverfew, rudbeckia, and statice.
Feels good to be back in the greenhouse with our hands in the dirt, and even better in the warm sunny weather ☀️

We’re going to miss our old farm in Allison Park! This move has been a 3 year process and we’re still not done! Can you believe it? But now that the snow has melted, it’s time to pack up the rest and continue on to a new season at a new farm.

Who is thinking about their garden? Winter has been, well...Winter. Like, real winter. Can you believe that? It was nice in a lot of ways, but if we're going to have irreversible climate change, why can't it just you know...Um, be Florida in Pittsburgh? The sun was out today. Yeah, it won't be long until the Sunshine State is Pennsylvania.
After the frigid temperatures we have been having, it was nice to feel like we were thawing! I have to say that sitting in my office watching the melting snow dripping and melting while I was getting through the never-ending planning and administrative work of running a farm has me anxious to get out there and get my hands in the earth.
The good news is it won't be long now! Next week we will be firing up the greenhouse and starting our very first seedlings of 2026! Bring it on! Be sure to follow along for our progress in the coming weeks.
We are going to be launching our seedling pre-sale in a couple of days so keeeeeeep your eye out.
