We got some really beautiful and gnarly bass tones for the upcoming @nirupunkrock EP.
Recorded four tracks in total including DI-Box, lo-passed sansamp, hi-passed darkglass copy and the miced and summed amp/cab combo.

Modded Behringer DR600.
I added a switch to toggle between the original 10 Mhz and a 3,579545 Mhz Chrystal. Huge reverb from a really cheap device. The shitty video is just a plain Di guitar track from the recent @forkupines recordings routed as an external effect in my DAW.

#diyrecolour palette with CTX, 15IPS and JFT. Really great for giving things an edge or just distorting the shit out of it. I loooove all three colours combined on vocals.
#jlmaudiola500 smooth opto compression that really shines when chained with an 1176. Great on overheads, acoustic guitar and vocals.
#lindellaudio7x500 sounds a bit flat and boring to me, but sometimes it does the job. At least, it's fast.
The DIY #studer169 EQ with Neutrik input transformer and a discrete op-amp in the parametric mid band section has odd shelving frequencies (20Hz/20KHz) but a damn nice, warm tone. If you are into DIY, #pcbgrinder still sells the boards, go get one!

-20 dB Pad Cable for taming my Sta-Level's output that was a bit hot for feeding an 1176's input.
680R for Pin 2 & 3 and 150R for the shunt. All Resistors are 1/4 W with 1% tolerance. Really easy to do and dirt-cheap!

A tad more snap in a quite dead sounding room with some wood underneath the snare. Silvia Massey describes this and way more in her really cool book 'recording unhinged'. The kick beater mic is featured there, as well. It's really cool for editing drums and to give the bassdrum a more realistic sound than just with kick in/out mics.
