Trialing new pansy this year because my beloved Natures Antique was discontinued by the breeder (can we protest this?) but Azure Limonette sure is a keeper.
This is the first year in 12 years of farming that we don’t have tulips. It feels weird to not be inundated with them right now. I decided to cut them out as a crop last year. They were consistently the lowest profitable crop on the farm, sometimes only breaking even. They are very expensive and labor intensive to grow and climate change makes them less reliable with added loss every year. Our farm space is limited so when something isn’t pulling their weight it simply has to go. I do miss them though, they’re beautiful and a real harbinger of Spring and the season ahead. Luckily I have many farming friends who still grow tulips that I can enjoy without the heartache.

Went down to PA to visit my sweet and spicy friend @hickorygrovegardens before the season kicks off. We had a lovely time giggling and dreaming and talking shit 💫
Come join the team! We’re looking to add one more team member to our small but mighty crew this season. Must love dirt, bugs, hard work, incessant heat and sweat, foggy sunrises, stopping everything to look at a frog, petting cats, giggles and flowers. Full job posting on our website 💕🌷🌱

After a little social media break we are back and ready for Spring. Tuber sale prep is well underway along with seeding and soil prep.
Still some great varieties up in the dahlia tuber shop, most are sold out and I’m incredibly grateful for that 🙏
