I find myself mentally escaping to these moments and to this special place, often. It was the privilege of a lifetime to be able to experience Lofotenās beauty and to attempt to slow down time over Christmas in this magical corner of the world. Itās hard to put into words how this place changed me, how it moved me, but I hope you all get to experience it one day. āØ
We got so lucky with winter travel. We witnessed more amazing showings of Aurora than we could have ever hoped for. There were times when the lights popped and we didnāt have our cameras or phones to document it because we didnāt want to miss a single second. Ironically, these are the showings I remember the most vividly. Standing in the middle of a fjord during low tide watching the Green Lady dance and swirl above us, illuminating the dark night sky with an awe-inspiring curtain of light, makes you question everything you may or may not believe in. I hope those moments stays with me forever. We met the most gracious of all Airbnb hosts here. Not even a wind storm on the eve of our departure could stop us. Take the time to go to the hard to reach ends of the earth, I promise you, itās so worth it.

Sometimes you can plan everything right. You can do the research, book the most expensive leg of your trip according to the phases of the moon and line up your stay with the darkest night⦠supposedly, your best chance to see the Northern Lights, but Mother Nature runs on her own schedule.
We got nothing more than a little green cloud. I knew I should have cancelled that Northern Lights chase, but hope is what gets you in the end. One night, we pushed to stay up until 2am⦠I even set my alarm to check at 3am and 4am because the app said there was a chance. Nothing.
And yet, the huskies and our stay at @holmenhusky was perfect. It was peaceful and restorative. Sleep, eat, sauna, repeat. Iām not the best at resting, but I finally, rested. Tranquility⦠it was exactly what I needed.
I wish there was footage of me getting flung off the husky sled at the end of our ride. I was the driver at that point. We took the last turn, it was a big one. The dogs got excited when they saw home and picked up speed. I couldnāt hold them back. The turn went extra wide and when we whipped back straight, I went flying. It was both embarrassing and one of my favorite moments of the trip. All dogs returned safely back home on their own. The only thing hurt that night was my pride. š

We arrived in the Arctic Circle, in the Auroral Oval⦠and it felt like we were on the edge of the earth, in a David Attenborough documentary, and it was fucking awesome.
Iām officially a fan of cold weather destinations for winter holiday travel. Thereās something really special about the twilight that comes with Polar Nights, you have to experience it at least once for yourself.
Christmas time in Scandinavia is magical. Letās just say, after this trip, I donāt believe in Santa Claus but I also donāt not believe in Santa Claus. š š¼šāØ
š³š“ 12/17 - a month ago today, I witnessed something truly amazing.
Chasing the Northern Lights is not for the faint of heart. All day youāre hoping for the clouds to clear and for the Green Lady to make an appearance. Patience.
One night, after dinner, the app suddenly said it was GO TIME. We got in the car and started driving away from the city, away from light pollution, directly into the darkness. Iāll never forget sticking my head out the passenger side window, looking up and feeling tears well up in my eyes the first time seeing the Aurora Borealis appear so clearly in the night sky. It covered everything our eyes could see, lighting up the darkness, dancing, a stunningly magical showing. Iāve never felt so lucky before. We were there at the right placeā¦at the right time, and everything was perfect. I never want to forget that feeling and I hope to experience it again in this lifetime. āØ
We got two showings that night. Once right before 9:30pm and again back at our airbnb around 12:30pm. Patience, luck, and a childlike spirit to explore outside⦠pays off sometimes.

I followed a toddler around to all of the parks and playgrounds and ate really well with friends.
hereās an opinion nobody asked for⦠London > NYC, just with shittier weather⦠not that there was ever a need for comparisonā¦.

I am totally enamored by the charm and allure of the French Riviera. sounds cheesy, but I remember feeling overwhelmed with gratitude sitting at dinner with my friends, while an incredible vocalist serenaded the restaurant. I was so grateful that I had the opportunity to travel and experience the beauty of the world, but even more grateful that I was in control of my own time. this is an ad for anybody contemplating freelance, make the jump and just do it. take back control of your life and find balance in this endless rat race⦠accidentally spend 25 š¶ on a cookie if you want to, protect your peace and live in the now. donāt wait to start living. āØ
days 9.5-11 š²šØ Monaco
turned 34 back in May in the land where Ferraris and Lambos are like Honda Civics and everything is luxury. the culture is rich and over the top, but it was cute for little pop through. the coolest part was actually watching and hearing the scattered thunder/lightning from our bachelor pad airbnb balcony. this is where weāre manifesting some work in the F1 space next year. ā”ļøššļø

I wish we had a couple more days to explore the vineyards along the Douro River, but from the short time we spent there, we were so in love. this Airbnb was probably my favorite stay of the trip - getting to wake up to that river view every morning was magical.
sound ON to hear the ambient sounds of @sseligson & @carolinelacoquine that I got to enjoy throughout our trip. we had vacation vibes flowing through our veins. š
