I’m cleaning out all my old containers of all my shows ever and… From college, 1984, pics from my production of THE WOMAN by Edward Bond: 1. my notebook cover, 2. Michael Cerveris as Heros in a costume by Cathy Zuber (who was a jewelry designer then in New Haven), 2. Steven Skybell as The Dark Man, 3. a note I gave the cast to amuse them at tech. And btw, the program I found lists in the CAST - Michael, Steven, David Herskovits, Lisa Peterson, Curt Columbus, Naomi Wolf (!) among many others you may know; Master Electrician - Neil Patel, Assistant Set Designer - Rebecca Miller (she also sculpted a stunning statue for the show), and this is my favorite “Set Crew – Scott Frankel.” Ah Life…

My brother Jon, who passed away in July of 2024, poured his heart and soul, his warmth and wisdom, into this book which he began after he was diagnosed with cancer. It is the story of his life in the movie industry, yes, but even more so the story of his heart, his vision, his philosophy, his values, and his loves (most especially his family.) The book is really about a way of life and a way of meeting life in its most challenging moments. As Jon did: with hope and chutzpah and resilience. He was a fighter, and a champion, from his first breaths on earth to his last. This book is Jon’s voice as he really was: positive, generous, direct, funny, wise. I am so proud of him, and of this book. If you read it, you will get to know my brother and get a glimpse into why he was, and always will be, so deeply beloved by so many. Lives he profoundly impacted in those closest to him, and also in families, friends, and fans around the globe. I am so grateful to him and all who helped bring this book to fruition, with a special thank you to Jon’s wife Julie, his sons Jamie @jamieslandau and Jodie @jodielandau , and my sister, Kathy. Kimberly Hébert Gregory. This woman touched my life with magic and laughter and song and inspiration. On the shows I was lucky enough to do with her, she led me and the production into unexpected territories, moments of depth, of heart, of absolute hilarity. And she was warm and kind. And she was a party, a powerhouse, a force for good. After our first few shows together, I continued to offer her roles in so many more (but she was, good for her, working in LA and doing well and never available.) I would have cast her in most anything. I loved working with her and wish I had more - for she was, nay IS, one of the best actors and best collaborators I’ve ever worked with for sure. Her energy and brilliance will be so missed, but I will continue to carry her with me for always. Thank you, Kimberly, for the smiles and joys and stories and songs and performances and friendship and memories you gave. I’ve been supremely blessed by your talent and presence in my life. I’m so proud of my bro… We just observed the one year anniversary of his passing… And received the Advance Reader copies of his memoir! So beautiful. What a glorious way to remember him on this anniversary, and to celebrate the enormous legacy he leaves for my family, and the art form, and the world… @jonplandau #alwayswithus
