I interviewed Nicky Siano before the Book Club Radio Festival and we had a moment for our shared love of the disco classic Bourgie’, Bourgie’ by Gladys Knight & the Pips.
When I finally heard him play it in his set, it made my life.
They tell you not to meet your heroes, but I’m so glad I did.
The fact that siblings Nicky Siano and Joe Siano founded The Gallery and created the first disco club of its kind, inspires me to continue the tradition of creating spaces that focus on the music and the power of the dance floor.
From attending underground parties at David Mancuso’s Loft, to creating his own established club and sound, Nicky Siano embodies so much of what I aspire to be.
