Happy happy happy 30th anniversary @katiehooten xo and to all those who’ve been part of our love! Recently we went to see relationship thinker @estherperelofficial speak - she’s been a passionate, inspiring and provocative thought leader (among many!) in our 30+ year journey. I left with two simple but resounding take-aways about growing with our significant others: 1. Be curious/cultivate curiosity; 2. Even with all the books, education, clinical experience, ancient convictions any of us has under our belt, a humble What do I know?! can keep compassion in the center of the convo. Yay for a cocktail of curiosity and compassion. I’ll work on it! :) Challenges and joys of partnership and parenting with a low hum of ongoing cancer have certainly had a way of teasing this to the surface, and the poem by Mark Nepo offers good wisdom from a learner’s perspective: be in the storm, but don’t worship the storm. Ooooooo this feels so important. So relevant. So curious! But what do I know.
My girl JoBear’s 🐻 first song was “Chocolate Dance” - two years old and already writing a very tasty hook 🎶 VIDEO EVIDENCE EXISTS. Proud of you @josiehooten and soooo love grooving to your song stories. Please VOTE ❤️🤍💙 then a few days later bop yourself silly to “our feelings seem to hate us” 💜☔️💜 out NOV 8.
At the WGA yes we did! celebreeting meetebration …clapping up this historic step for writers w longtime collaborator and superbuddy @toddedwards — This WIN is about writers, worker’s rights, equity, and as someone living with cancer who lost healthcare as a result of studio shenanigans, it is also very personal. SAG - you got next!
@ssullivan100ca you are a superstar and incredible partner in the quest to cure cancer. Thank you for these amazing years of progress and growth due to your phenomenal leadership as the Executive Director at @llsgreaterla ! WE CURE CANCER!
This month makes 14 years as a patient at City of Hope where scores of caregivers keep the cancer small so I can aim to live big. For many years the daily CML treatment left my body feeling abused, but we’ve found a balance and regular cycling has played a huge part in managing my side effects. Last year I rode over 6,000 miles, many with important friends and loved ones who’ve each contributed to my sustained health. Thanks to you and @llsgreaterla and @llsusa , every day brings us closer to the cure. #goteam
Happy 19th birthday to Eva (giver of life) Deanna (divine) Hooten (hoots a lot in her sleep, unexplainable medical phenomenon). She’s named after her grandmother Deanna Edwards, @mamadeedee42 and definitely has her kind smile 😊. Love you Eva babe 😘 Always, Blowbie Daddy 😝
