Saying goodbye to a workhorse. This RD-300NX served as my studio’s master controller for the past 6 years. Its weighted, 88-key bed still holds up today, though that ribbon control on the left not so much. I’d be sad to see this go if not for what’s showing up later today…
Hit Coco Ichibanya w/ @corgiking for lunch today. Way less traffic during the weekdays. Also tried stopping by Guitar Center to mess with the new Roland Fantom-0 series, but unfortunately they haven’t hit the floor yet. Maybe next time.
Slightly overcast, super-warm beach days are the best. No burns, and just the perfect amount of sun peaking in throughout the day to remind everyone just how beautiful those waves were.
Installed the new desk/monitor. May decide to opt for a dual monitor setup down the road. I love how nicely my 88-key controller fits the tray. (Thanks @corgiking !)
Lovingly assembled with precision and care, ready to handle whatever I throw at it, this freshly built composer rig seemingly has all the power, storage, and speed I’ll need for future projects moving forward. I’ll be dropping an overpriced RTX 2060 in it at some point in the next two weeks.. which I guess means it’ll run Cyberpunk at a reasonable frame rate. 🤷🏻♂️
In truth, I needed to upgrade the display as well, so I have a 4k monitor coming in which should hopefully allow Cubase to be less cluttered. It is, by the way. Cluttered, I mean. I expect a few weeks of shaking off the rust and learning new shortcuts/hotkeys before I’m at full speed, but so far I’m not hating it.
