Brighton artists open houses afforded me an opportunity to set up an exhibition of some of my @opencollegearts work from the last couple of years. It's strange to actually present my work to an unsuspecting public...but there was some really positive feedback, and so far, so perfectly ok. 🙏🏻

I was so grateful to have been asked to contribute to The Stolen Orange exhibition @bondstreetgallery and for a little of my work to have been hung in such great company. It was such an eclectic and interesting show thanks to the curation & vision of @sarahshawpainting & @honkymarino ...and the eagle eyed will notice that somebody even liked the cyanotype enough to want to take it home too. What a lovely thing to have been a part of 🙌🏼.
'Look Out...Cliff!!'...
A little walk through of my Open Studio with @raeganhodgeart , showcasing (if that's the word!) Some of my #weareoca Unit 1.3 work on 'urban cliffs'.
So...in a break from tradition, I'm showing a little less singing and a little more of my ou art college study work at an open studio with @raeganhodgeart this Saturday. Raegan & I have both been developing ideas of cliffs and cliff faces independently in our creative practices...hence the 'Look Out....Cliff!' (if you know you know!)...
Anyway, it's a very informal drop in, hang out & chat about art starting from 3. Perhaps a little more just hanging out in the evening!

I'm creating some work around the ideas of 'Absence/Presence' and these are images made using the outline of Saint James's House in Kemptown. It's one of 8 tower blocks destined for demolition in Brighton. I wanted to produce something that was both remembering a place whilst also redacting it. Deleting it from history and the homes & lives of those within it.

Fame at last!! So pleased to see this portrait of Bertie & I at @the_gallery_at_the_playroom_ last night with my gallery date @raegan_hodge . These chlorophyll photographic prints by @heloise_bergman are so extraordinary & it was generally agreed I look better with a fluffy dog in front of my face!
The portrait just happened by chance at photo fringe last year and it made it's way all the way to a London gallery wall. 😊
Lino prints over collaged photographs of high rise blocks...as part of my urban cliffs project. I find there's alot more energy when you crash mediums together.

One of the great things about @opencollegearts and the creative arts course is the Skills Hub. Literally it will suggest you just go & do some mono printing...and so you do. Without these prompts, I'd probably find something far less interesting to do. I'm finally letting go of my worries about 'judgement' and just...well...letting go. And it's freeing! Who'd have thought it.
