Late last night driving home, my truck battery came loose from the retaining strap, was sliding around and the negative lead kept shorting on the frame, my electronics and stereo kept cutting out to the point that my headlights burned out. I tried fixing it with a few zip ties I had, they broke, I happened to not have any tools, so I managed to secure it with a cheddar cheese bagel from @hudsonbakingco and an @huntbackcountry ball cap. I made it home just fine after that 😂
Edit for all the internet mechanics out there: I later found one of the leads from my positive was in the process of breaking off on the drive home and that’s what knocked out my electronics.
One of my favorite moments from Blade Texas was getting a moment to sit and get to know @demkoknives@john_of_demko_knives . We’ve both been in this industry for quite some time and have somehow never connected. Absolute class act and great dudes. We really just talked surface grinding and knife making for almost an hour. Really cool dudes, and their hustle and work ethic is palpable.

I have to apologize for not having my act together for the show this year and only getting some not so great photos of what we’re bringing out now.
This was a fun theme to work with. About 22-23 years ago Chris did a series of Umfaans with the Cigar cutter blade. It’s a single sided hollow. The knives were engraved with ‘cigar special’ came with a titanium ash tray. Here’s is another small series along those lines.
We have one Large cigar special with brass inlays and hardware with a matching brass billet ash tray I turned. Two small Sebenza cigar cutters with polished chamfers. And a matched LH and RH set of Lignum Vite inlays with brass hardware, standard polished blades.
More details in the show. Stoked to see you guys!
@bruiserindustries Scoped Carbine is my favorite class I’ve ever taken. It was great to host him and a bunch of new dudes for a second year. I’m always impressed by the drive of the students Joe attracts and each time I’m fortunate to make some great new shooting buddies to learn from. Thanks to the guys from @steinernatureusa@burrisoptics and @caracalusa that came to shoot with us. Setting like this you get a chance to hang with the good industry folks.

MCK: Print
I’ve been playing around with the idea of a medium combat knife for over a year now. As a place to start I took the Pro Soldier and stretched it a bit to see if this would be a good design basis to start from. This has been a good exercise in CAD design and being able to iterate relatively quickly has allowed me to keep the creative ball rolling forward. I finished the print at the shop this last weekend and the internal lights of the printers were too good to not film a bit. I haven’t made a video edit in many years and was never very good at it but it sure is fun. Shot and edited on my iPhone.
