Ouzo shots started at cocktail hour. 🍾
Hands behind backs, faces to the floor, shooting with just their heads.
The groom went from celebrating to turning pale. Spirit bottles passed around the dance floor. @timrecht walked outside to find an ambulance and venue managers panicking. 😱
Everyone was sent home at 8:30 PM.
How do venues prevent celebrations from spiraling into chaos like this?

Sparkling honey alcohol at 4%
Light enough for Australian summers. Nothing like the heavy dessert wine most people think of when they hear "mead."
@timrecht spent THREE YEARS perfecting this in his apartment kitchen between wedding shoots.
You will not expect this next part. 👇
He crowdfunded the entire first production run before brewing a single batch. Over $40K raised from family and friends who believed in the vision before tasting a drop.

Truth: Wedding photographers need outgoing personalities.
@timrecht calls it "golden retriever energy."
You need photographers who naturally lead, create moments without forcing them, and connect with people throughout the entire day.

@timrecht had a photography studio sending contractors to weddings.
Good business. Good revenue. 💰
But his perfectionist side wasn't cool with it anymore. The experience he delivered personally was more important.
So he sold it.
Now he shoots solo and built Greedy Bear mead in his apartment kitchen between weddings.
Episode 4 drops SOON.

Matt + Alara. What a time.
This pre wedding shoot we’ve been planning for a while went from “should we just reschedule” to “holy crap this is magic” real fast.
We started under cover at Paddington Reservoir cause the weather looked like it was about to absolutely dump on us. 20% chance of rain my ass. Still, we got some cute as shots in that moody light, then wandered the streets of Paddington and found these little pockets of chic-ness (is that a word, idk) tucked between terraces. They were totally caught pashing on someone’s Google doorbell. 🤣
We’re saying our goodbyes, I’m packing my gear, then BAM. The sun just explodes through on Oxford St for like 2 and a half minutes max. Light bouncing off the puddles, glowing faces, I was literally yelling at them to get back in position. They were laughing, I was running like a maniac. It was… yeah… one of those perfect little moments you can’t plan.
We talked about how kids are awesome, and also a bit of a nightmare (they have a 3 year old who’s gonna be at the wedding which is actually the cutest thing ever). We solved the housing crisis in theory, decided Airbnbs might be the way, and probably talked about 6 other things I can’t even remember cause I was still buzzing from that light.
This is why I love this job.

Krystina + Robbie got hitched last weekend at Sydney’s Shell House and it was bloody divine. They had just under 30 guests and honestly it was so so cool. The food… unreal. The vibes… even better. I may have cried like 3 times but who’s counting.
