Amidst the construction and the towering skyline of New York, a pigeon takes flight, a symbol of the city's ever-present life. Pigeons are more than just a common sight in New York; they’re part of the city’s rhythm, with an estimated population of over one million. These resilient birds have adapted to urban life, finding home in the nooks and crannies of this bustling metropolis. Like the city itself, they are survivors, navigating the concrete jungle with grace and tenacity.
In the depths of the New York City subway, countless stories pass by every minute, just like the trains. Each encounter is brief yet significant, a moment where lives intersect before moving forward on separate tracks.
Did you know the NYC subway has more than 472 stations, making it the largest rapid transit system in the world by number of stations? Every stop is a new chapter in the never-ending story of the city.
Like the subway itself, life is a series of connections, always moving, always evolving, each stop just a part of the larger journey.

Hamburg is heavily influenced by seafaring. The port facilities on the other side of the River Elbe feel like a city within the city. Thousands of containers are stacked, millions of lights can be admired at dusk, and the cries of seagulls fill the air.
The many bridges are also typical of Hamburg. This theme might be a bit overdone, but in my opinion, it’s a must to visit during a photo walk and I still love this Bridge.
Especially during sunrise or sunset, there are some amazing shadow plays to be seen here.
After a long break, I'm finally posting something new here on Instagram. I have to admit that after my trip to the USA last year, I felt quite burnt out when it came to photography. Another factor is that you have to be active on Instagram almost every day, or else the algorithm won’t favor you. But that’s something I can’t and don’t want to do, so it’s not very appealing to be active here if, in the end, the post is only seen by 20-30 people. Nevertheless, I don’t want to give it up completely.
Last week, I was in Hamburg, and after a long break, I felt the urge to just explore the streets with my camera again. Unfortunately, the last time I was in Hamburg was in 2019. I love the city, the people, and the relaxed atmosphere. I would even go so far as to say that Hamburg is like a second home to me since I spent a lot of time there as a child and teenager visiting my older brother.
