FLEETING FLIGHT A seemingly microscopic airplane, a humbling sight as it floats against the massive cumulus storm clouds at sunset. The last few nights here in Los Angeles have brought brilliant flashes of lightning and bone-rattling thunder, a powerful reminder of something greater than our fragile humanity. Everything is only understood in relation to each other, simply by comparison and contrast. The ant to our foot, the airplane against the thunderhead, our planet against the Sun, our solar system within the Universe. And with time, does anyone remember when an entire Summer felt like a year off from school? Time seems to accelerate as we get older. The months and years flashing by. Time and scale are only understood in the context of relationships which are ever-changing, expanding or contracting. Even our world appears to miniaturize as our understanding of it broadens. So brace yourself, as we are all likely destined to experience, months will begin to feel like minutes, decades will feel like years, and life will simply flow like a river until the simple act of blinking will evoke a passage of eons and our consciousness will envelope an eternity. ~ ~ #fleetingmoments #flight #airplane #stormclouds #cumulus #sunset #cloudscape #clouds #thunderhead #relationships #contrast #comparison #scale #time #expansion #consciousness #everythingisrelative #theoryofrelativity

FEATHERED FRIEND Sometimes when weโ€™re lost in the noise of the world, the push and pull of intentions from everyone but our own inner voice, it feels like drowning. Itโ€™s when we finally begin to step away into solitude that the old familiar voice returns. The voice that guided us before our heads were crammed with everyone elseโ€™s ideas of who we should be and what labels we must place on our experiences. Solitude in nature is like stepping out of the murky, crashing waves into the sunlight, where our voice once again gently floats beside us like a feathered friend. #innervoice #voice #friend #friends #girl #bird #feathers #ocean #waves #drowning #wakingup #solitude #woke #featheredfriends #connected #sunset #intothelight #malibu #beach #silhouette #nikonz7 #irix150mmdragonfly

TALKING BACK As I sit here at the edge of the Red Sea in Egypt, facing the small chair, Iโ€™m reminded of author Richard Bach writing about having conversations to his younger self. He imagined sending words of wisdom back in time to influence and hopefully ripple forward positive changes to his present self. For one, Iโ€™d recommend myself to travel the world more at a younger age. Cultural immersion is a super-charged way to expand your empathy of anotherโ€™s perspective and often a better appreciation of the life you have back home. #talkingback #timetravel #communication #conversation #richardbach #bridgeacrossforever #chair #sunrise #sunset #change #travel #self #selfcare #advice #wordsofwisdom #lookingback #perspective #experience #culturalimmersion #empathy #appreciation #nevertoolate #fineartphotography #theprintswap

Ralston Image is pleased to begin supporting the distribution in Japan of Drops of Terroir, a rare Napa Valley wine created by Shin Kibayashiย and Yuko Kibayashi, the creators behind Drops of God. Shin Kibayashi and Yuko Kibayashi wrote the original story for Drops of Godย under the pen name Tadashi Agi, with artwork by Shu Okimoto, bringing the legendary manga Drops of Godย into the world. Drops of Godย became a major cultural phenomenon by portraying wine not simply as a drink, but as story, memory, emotion, and discovery. Its world later expanded into the internationally acclaimed television series created by Quoc Dang Tran, directed by Oded Ruskin, and starring Fleur Geffrierย and Tomohisa Yamashita. The Apple TV+ series won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Seriesย in 2024. Season Two was released in January 2026. And now, that storytelling continues through Drops of Terroir. Drops of Terroirย is a limited wine born from Saffron Vineyardย on Mt. Veederย in Napa Valley. According to Drops of Terroir, only 600 bottlesย were produced. With no second vintage guaranteed, it is a truly special wine. This wine was created in collaboration with Saffron Vineyard Wines, LLCย in Napa, California. Ralston Imageโ€™s involvement begins here. Our role is simple. To help bring the story of this wine to Japan. Through our Experience Designย and storytelling approach, we hope to introduce Drops of Terroirย in a thoughtful and engaging way, connecting it to the culture of wine, hospitality, creativity, and collaboration. Wine is not only what is in the glass. It is the land, the maker, the story, and the experience of the people gathered around it. We look forward to exploring meaningful encounters and fun, innovative collaborations together as Drops of Terroir opens new possibilities in Japan. Ralston Image Shaping Perception. Creating Connection.

In July 2025, Ralston Image had the privilege of helping produce the Tokyo presentation of Jason Moran Performs Haruki Murakami at the Murakami Library, Waseda University. It was an honor to work with Jason Moran, Roland Kelts, Motoyuki Shibata, and the exceptional staff at Waseda University on this full-house event centered on the literary world of Haruki Murakami. Filmed by a skilled camera team, it was a memorable convergence of music, literature, and live performance. The project later continued in December with a presentation at The Town Hall in New York, where Haruki Murakami himself appeared, further extending the spirit of this remarkable program. Creating memorable experiences with lasting resonance is at the heart of what we strive for through our Experience Design approach. We are deeply grateful to have contributed to such a special cultural event in Tokyo. Thank you Roland Kelts for bringing us on board! SAME SKY, NEW GUY On a long, empty road in Death Valley, just after midnight on New Yearโ€™s Eve 2021 into 2022, I made this image under the Milky Way with a Maglite and a time exposure. I was not simply taking a photograph. I was marking a death. The death of a former self. An old storyline. An identity that had carried me as far as it could. So I ran into the dark, swirling light behind me, not fully knowing where life was about to lead. That is what makes this image mean even more to me now. It became a kind of prophecy. The circles speak to something I have come to understand more deeply since then: life moves in swirling patterns. The mind moves in patterns. Families move in patterns. Relationships move in patterns. Even the universe moves in patterns. What appears still is often in motion. What appears solid is often changing. What appears final is often only a threshold. The stars above us look fixed, but they are endlessly drifting, spinning, orbiting, becoming. We just do not perceive it in the moment. Not long after this photograph, I was swept into my own unseen orbit, one that carried me toward a completely different life and, nearly a year later, to Japan, where I began a new chapter with my incredible wife and partner. Sometimes the road ahead does not reveal itself all at once. Sometimes all we get is a small light in our hand and the willingness to step into the unknown. But that is often enough. A blank slate. An open road. An open door. Sometimes we do not find a new life by staying where we are comfortable. Sometimes we find it by letting an old version of ourselves die, and trusting the dark long enough for a new shape to appear. #DeathValley #MilkyWay #LongExposure #OpenRoad #StepIntoTheUnknown

Today, weโ€™re excited to share a new partnership that brings our belief in the power of experience design into a new dimension. โœˆ๏ธ Ralston Image is honored to be working with ANA Business Jet to help expand awareness and opportunities for private aviation experiences connecting Japan and the world. Private aviation is often associated with luxury. But at its heart, its true value is found in two things: Time and experience. Time to move freely. Time to focus on what matters most. Time supported by privacy, comfort, and space to reflect, create, or simply be present. And beyond time, there is the journey itself. Not just transportation, but a thoughtfully designed experience centered around the traveler. Because travel speaks to something deeply human: adventure, discovery, and the desire to see beyond the familiar. Together with ANA Business Jet, we look forward to exploring new ways of connecting people, cultures, and opportunities through meaningful travel experiences. For us, this partnership reflects what Ralston Image is all about: A creative bridge between Japan and the world. ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐ŸŒ‰๐ŸŒŽ Timothy Scott Ralston Global Business Creative Director Tomoko Ralston Business Development Producer @anabusinessjet_official #RalstonImage #ANABusinessJet #ExperienceDesign #PrivateAviation #LuxuryTravel

I thought stepping away from Hollywood would remove me from the world of moviemaking. Instead, it gave me an unexpected clarity. I left everything familiar behind and traveled the world aloneโ€”moving through foreign streets, temples, ruins, and coastlines with nothing to lean on but my own attention. I was looking for silence. For perspective. For space from a life shaped by movies and the way they train us to see. What I found followed me everywhere. The world of movies doesnโ€™t end when you leave the industry. It continues in the movies of the mindโ€”โ€จin how meaning is framed,โ€จemotion is edited,โ€จand identity is projected outward. There was no escape. Only a newfound awareness. Those solitary journeys shaped I AM STILL, HEREโ€”โ€จa small book born from movement, solitude, and learning to see with fresh eyes. Most of what we call thinking isnโ€™t really ours. Itโ€™s an inheritance. A collection of borrowed voices and second-hand beliefs. Parents, teachers, culture, religion, advertising, societyโ€™s quiet rules for how to be. It arrives early and settles deep. Eventually, we stop hearing it as external and begin treating it as our own inner voice. We follow its instructions without question because it feels familiar. And familiarity can feel like truth. But clarity begins with curiosity. A gentle pause. A simple question: Whose voice is this? The moment we ask, something shifts. The automatic pattern breaks. The momentum slows. We begin to see how much of our inner world was shaped by othersโ€™ expectations, othersโ€™ fears, othersโ€™ limitations. Not out of harm, but out of habit. If we never examine these inherited voices, we live inside a world that was designed for us, not by us. A life carrying momentum that may no longer be aligned with who we are now. The work is not to judge the past or tear down where we came from. The work is simply to look. To listen with awareness. To separate what is true for us now from what was handed down long ago. This is how we begin to remember ourselves. โ€จNot by adding more. But by noticing what was never ours to carry.
