Double Bass meet the new @nudemicrophones M49
As I helped @jameyfoxton track his latest works today with @lucysugerman , I thought… what’s better on Double Bass than a clone of a microphone from the late 1940s.

Shout out to drummer @iron.clad.lou who tracked 4 tracks before midday, and @dreyrollan who was a consistant one take wonder!!!

Once used by The Beatles, I used the vintage EMI REDD.17 to record Tasmanian band Glass Media at Frying Pan Studios.
Inside Mona Museum, Frying Pan Studios has dream gear that made my job effortless, along with help from studio assistant Callum and manager Chris Townsend.
My friend Cam helped me with a lend of his vintage Neumann U87 and filming this walk-through. Using that mic exclusively on Anna’s vocal, we added a tight echo via the Echo Fix tape delay.
Using the new Fender Tone Master Pro like an endless pedal board, that got a hell of a look in both in the studio and afterwards, as we used it for some heavily effected vocal layers.
Drums were a mix match, but the Ludwig Black Beauty is always a win…even if it did have an extended Tassie holiday…
Basses were shot out, and the Fender P
& Mustang won!
For guitar amps, we went with a classic Fender Deluxe, and an Ampeg Portaflex.
The whole session ran on Avid Pro Tools.

It was the first time I used the @fender tone master pro. Even though I used one Fender Bassman vintage setting and a distortion pedal the whole set, it was INCREDIBLE!
