This is a role I took to challenge myself and test my boundaries as an actor. It was a role that came along at the perfect time in my professional and personal life. I was dealing with healing my own trauma from a family member’s sexual assault, and I was digging into ways of preventing that kind of thing from ever happening again in the world. I was completely moved when I discovered, in researching for this film, that the principles and tenets of BDSM provide a worthy solution, with special attention paid to consent, communication, and listening. The values of that lifestyle stuck with me and I continue to advocate for a better world using what I learned.
