The Sacred Heart Church on the edge of the Fort Belknap Reservation, Montana. Also known as the Pink Church it was founded in 1931 as an Indian Mission Church. The Cemetery was established before by Jesuits in 1924 and is dedicated to all Members of this parish and the veterans of WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Persian Gulf Wars. Thank you to @timothydoney for the research, finding the newspaper clippings and the beautiful Aurora Borealis photographs. #sacredheart #montana #fortbelknap #mediumformat #fortbelknap

Joseph Kossuth Dixon (1856–1926) was born in Hemlock Lake, New York, and began his career as a Baptist minister after graduating from Rochester Theological Seminary. He later shifted into lecturing and educational work, eventually partnering with Wanamaker's and gaining the support of Rodman Wanamaker. Between 1908 and 1913, Dixon led three expeditions across the United States to document Native American tribes through photography, film, and sound recordings, including the 1913 ā€œExpedition of Citizenship.ā€ Dixon became best known for his portraits of Indigenous peoples, producing more than 8,000 images. His work was shaped by the era’s ā€œvanishing raceā€ narrative, and he often staged scenes or used visual effects to create dramatic compositions. Despite this, his collection remains an important historical record of Indigenous life in the early twentieth century.

I’ve been working on a new medallion piece this week. I wanted to create something nostalgic—something inspired by my sister Denise, who taught me how to bead. I’m far from a pro, but I’m really proud of how this turned out. Of course I had to use the neon beads—I’ll always love how they pop. I still have some fill work, backing, and the rope to finish, but I wanted to share where it’s at so far. #MarioBros #Beadwork #Montana #ColorfulArt

I made it out to Lodge Pole to cook with Aunt Val Chopwood. We made Pizza, Chicken Salad Sandwiches and Banana Dream Pies. Growing up my mom always made Dream Pies but not banana flavored, so we tried it out. Last week me and Aunt Sis went to Malta and got a few groceries and went out to eat instead of cooking. I hope everyone's weekend is good. Next weekend is Easter, so im not sure what were doing for that. 🐣 šŸ‡ āœļø
