I grew up such a huge fan of Spike’s films (I think my giant #DoTheRightThing movie poster I had in my bedroom is still somewhere in my parents basement 🤞) and now to see an artwork of mine in a scene of his new film just blows my mind. 🤯 With incredible actors @jfreewright@deanwintersofficial and @ilfenator as well. 🌟Wow. I’m truly honored and excited. This painting is part of Spike’s personal collection (thank you @dexterwimberly !) and was on display with his exhibition at #TheBrooklynMuseum as well as being a cover for #TimeMagazine (Thank you @time !) a few years back. Wishing my father Masato Okamura a very Happy 85th Birthday! 🎂 (That’s a lot of candles!) I would never have been fortunate enough to live this deeply rewarding / crazy life of art and adventure without the unconditional love and support of my Dad (and Mom too course!). 🌟 My father has always set the best example on how to be thoughtful, generous, gracious and an admired leader. He is a man who has treated everyone he has ever met with respect and kindness. I hope to have as much energy and enthusiasm for life as he does when I reach 85. ⚡️So much love for this guy, no words can express my gratitude for everything you’ve done Dad - Happy Birthday! 🙏💛✨✨✨p.s. the baby with the bottle is me 😅
