This week #aquaculture and #fisheriesmanagement students @hadlowcollege undertook nutritional analysis of two Commercial fish diets to see if what they measured matched the specifications. For remote students, the #facetoface students filmed their methods and discussed sources of error, sharing the video on #msteams for the rest of the class to view. Next week sees the completion of the lab work and students will get to see how well they did!
ED1 @hadlowcollege #fisherymanagement students conducting a river corridor survey on the River Bourne. Students measured width, depth, flow of river of 2 x 10m transects, identifying a range of invertebrate species from kick sampling including; water skaters, water shrimp and stone loaches.
Great way to end the autumn term. ED1 student’s were involved with the monitoring of fish stocks and water quality as part of a project to monitor fish stocks in a changing environment.
