This is the holy grail of surfing.
@timlatte put the time in, did the research, and left home with a hope and a prayer. It all paid off.

First and last real Baltic swell this winter. Sure hasn’t been the season we were all hoping for, but that one storm back in November sure was primo.

#MyForecast Episode #004: @timlatte goes north of north. Hailing from Sweden, he’s spent more time searching for surf potential in the Arctic Circle than just about anyone.
“It’s not the Atlantic hurricanes we look for, it’s the gigantic Arctic ones. Swells that no one really pays attention to except a few people who live there. And even then, there are only two hours of light, there are swell directions to figure out—you think you know what to look for, and then it’s completely different when you arrive.”
The harder a place is to forecast, the more rewarding it is to score.
Tim’s hack for pulling off the impossible is Surfline’s Historic Forecast feature. He cross-references past swells—when he’s scored or been skunked—against upcoming storms he’s tracking on the charts.

After our stop far north, we turned less north, following the offshore winds and Atlantic swell toward the Lofoten Islands to complete our northern journey in truly novel fashion -> Surfing on the shortest day of the year and lobster diving at an Arctic slab.
