A good post-apocalyptic film depends on Set Dec and Props to bring its crapsack world to life. As Props Master for @asweknowitfilm I knew that any self-respecting wasteland scavenger like Zee ( @mariafrankis ) wouldn’t dream of braving the ruins of the old world without a means to defend herself.
Based on Maria’s stature and frame, as well as the character’s style, I crafted Zee a weapon that would be both comfortable for her to wield and practical to carry on a long journey. While also exhibiting psychological warfare to intimidate any foe and a bit of personality in keeping with the tone of the character and film. Using a fishing club as my base, I sanded and stained the prop before adding killer spikes, a hemp wrap for the handle, and hand-carved decorations. It took hours of work to create a single moment in the film…but that’s what visual storytelling is all about!

Take two of trying to see Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie ( @ntbtstm ). With an afternoon to kill @joseeprudhomme44 and @timjcjohnson journeyed through heart of the West End. Fuelled by ice coffees from @pikthai_toronto we perused @vinegarsyndrometoronto and grabbed some road sodas from @bandit_brewery before stopping for happy hour at @pennies.bar . Once properly fortified, it was only a short (detoured) trip to @imaginecarlton where we successfully saw the movie…again.

Went to see Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie ( @ntbtstm ) at @foxtheatre with @joseeprudhomme44 and the power cut halfway through. So we went for an impromptu adventure on the still lit Parliament at @greathallbookshop and @salttobacco
