This is a Chris Flynn shot. I don’t usually take street pics of people because I’m looking at old door knobs and chipped paint or whatever but this guy was cool. I don’t know if he wanted his picture taken or not and I struggle with that which makes me very reluctant to shoot strangers but again the outfit and style was compelling. He was kinda scurrying around and somewhat avoidant but didn’t overtly notice me and disapprove or anything. I was following him but not getting into his space. Like a weird little dance. Does anyone have a strong opinion about purchasing a used Alexa Mini and some Cine modded still lenses (Leica R’s or Canon FD’s)? I’m being belligerent again and thumbing my nose at the “resolution” thing. I think it’s faulty reasoning to think that you need 6k or 8k to shoot your project. Most of the time anyways. What you need is a good eye, to understand lighting, and a camera with a good sensor and color science, which is not the same as a camera with a high resolution sensor. And good lenses. I think that’s important too. ⁣ ⁣ I just lost half of the modest amount of people that like these post. Good god. ⁣ ⁣ I like the nerd talk and I also hate the nerd talk.⁣ ⁣ Okay. Let me try to purge what I just wrote because camera talk is for dorks (hand up.) ⁣ ⁣ “Snacks” is a bad word. Look at it. Now say it. It’s nuts. I don’t care if you have to use 50 other words to say the same thing. Avoid “snack,” snacks,” and especially “SNACKZ” at all cost* Say stuff like ⁣ ⁣ “want something small to eat before lunch?” ⁣ or ⁣ “I could eat something small?” ⁣ or ⁣ “I could use a little bit of food but not a lot of good” or ⁣ “let’s eat something between meals that’s small enough to where we’ll want to eat a full meal later but we’ll also be satiated for now and it would be great if it was something small and easy and maybe even portable.” ⁣ ⁣ Go ahead and say “snacks” and really hit that “cks”hard. Should send a shudder through your entire body. It’s not about efficiency all the time. Suburban German Billboard ⁣ ⁣ This is how all billboards should look. If they can’t be eliminated entirely they should be empty frames that remind us of our worst instincts and behaviors.
