Do you have experience of working with young people to plan and deliver activities in the museums, arts or cultural sectors?
Norfolk Museums Service wishes to appoint a dynamic Project Worker to join the Kick the Dust team. This role is part of the county wide youth engagement programme, based at Time & Tide Museum.
The project worker will facilitate impactful and sustained engagement with young people aged 13-25 years, including those most hard to reach.
This will involve working in partnership with YMCA Norfolk Norfolk Library and Information Service schools, colleges, universities, and other organisations looking to engage young people with creative heritage and environmental activities.
The role will involve some travel to Norfolk Museums Service venues across the county.
This post is funded by Arts Council England and will initially run until 31 March 2028.

One of the BEST museums I’ve visited in ages 👀
Not quite Essex but if you’re heading to Norfolk, don’t miss The Time & Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth. We loved it and spent over 3 hours here.
Housed inside the former Tower Fish Curing Works (built around 1850 and later expanded), this place is so much more than your average museum. You’re not just reading about history, you’re walking through it. The lingering smoky scent from its past life is still there, which makes the whole experience feel quite immersive.
We also LOVED the recreated Victorian “row” (very narrow street) such a clever way to bring the stories of the town to life. It really gives you a sense of what life was like and the importance of the herring industry to the area.

There are free craft activities dotted throughout (a big win with the kids 👏) and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Today is the day! Come to the Time and Tide Museum to meet our volunteers and share your stories of the Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens.
Do you or somebody you know have memories of the Winter Gardens? We want to hear from you! The Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens is currently being restored but in a past life it was a roller skating rink, jungle gym, German Bierkeller and even a nightclub!
The Time and Tide archive volunteers are looking to record stories from people who visited, or knew people who visited the Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens. The conversation will be recorded and used in future oral histories made by the Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Great Yarmouth Museums.
