For our last back to back on Saturday the 7th of march we invited two local heroes.(definitely two music heroes of mine). @krismika__ and @mmmowgliii . They will play from 01:00 till 02:00 ——- Krismika is a Rotterdam-based DJ heavily involved in the city’s underground scene, both behind the decks and behind the scenes. In addition to DJing, she works as a programmer for the renowned radio station and cultural platform Operator. Earlier, she used to be active as an event organizer for underground record label Pinkman and has conducted research on gender dynamics within the Dutch electronic underground scene. As a DJ, Krismika’s sound is wide-ranging, but her main focus is deeply rooted in the sounds of the 80s. Drawing inspiration from that era, her sets often include Electro, New Beat, EBM, Wave, Acid House, and Italo. She has a passion for opening sets and radio shows filled with downtempo oddities, which she showcases in her bi-monthly radio show Same but Different on Operator. We hope you are as excited for this back to back as we are. ———— Rotterdam-based Samira is a resident DJ at Operator. Her sound draws from bleak electro and raw, bass-driven cuts, shaped by a fascination with tension and atmosphere. She gravitates toward darker, slower grooves that can feel both restrained and blunt. Bass and breaks form the backbone of her sets, pulsing with quiet intensity. Her sound is moody, gritty and unhurried, with appearances at festivals such as Intergalactic FM Festival, Grauzone and Down the Rabbit Hole. ——- Dean high has been making waves in Rotterdam and Amsterdam’s underground scene. With appearances on Operator Radio, stranded FM, and future intel, along with a string of standout gigs, his raw and distinctive sound should be on your radar by now. As the host of his own radio show, Hypernormal radio, he continues to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories. The first b2b for the next edition of time waves on the 7th of march will be delivered to you by: @amerks__ (Merky) the organizer of time waves wants to use this opportunity to play some off his favorite vinyls to start the night in a chill synthy way. Together with @djalmelo aka knalmelo. Who has an amazing vinyl collection and with that is the perfect partner in crime for Merky. Happy new year from time waves! We had an amazing year with 3 succesfull editions at @timeisthenewspace . We want to thank all the artist that played for us, ofcourse the amazing @timeisthenewspace and last but not least the guest that danced so hard! We started April with an over sold out event with a line in front of the door of a size that I have rarely seen before. And it was worth it. What a party. In may we did a small edition for our organizers birthday. @amerks__ . The amount of love was overwhelming and the music was also hitting the spot. Last but not least in October we did “autumn fest” this was a lot of production work and a lot of stress but seeing what has been created, all worth it. Definitely next year again! So again thank you for by far the best year so far of time waves. We hope you all recover well from your New Year’s Eve while we work on the next edition. We will see you on the 7th of march!

During the day of part of time waves autumn fest there will also be food, visual art, some sick upcycled clothes for sale and records for sale! Food will be done by @lucciejames and @arnout_van_willegen Arnout and Luc bring you freshly baked pita, served warm and filled with their own homemade seitan. Every element made from scratch: a fresh take on comfort food. Then @luc.pontier made some sick clothes to hang and sell. Luc Pontier reworks discarded garments into new designs, shaped by the details of their past. Records will be sold by @ephemeris.records ( @dj_klapsalon ). Ephemeris records brings a rough music collection of vinyl, cd’s, and cassettes for you. From Lollywood to Hollywood and from Tekno to Turkish Grooves. Sniff around in the bins between shameless bad Euro Dance hits or swoon away on sultry RnB. An abundance of records and cassettes from all over the world, genres, subgenres and no genres. Perhaps you will find the gems you have been looking for since a minute. ephemeris will have special’y for this occasion a selection of post punk, no wave, diy, cold wave etc! And by @d00b0p . That will bring his collection to sell. @merijn.vandenbrand will take care of some visual art for you during the whole party that will help make the vibes even better!

For the night program Saturday (11 October) we got some exciting DJ’s for you. To start off with @djalmelo from 22:00 till 00:00. DJ Almelo brings the beats from the streets. They say he could easily beat Jack van Gelder in a fist fight. After that @_nijkamp will play from 00:00 till 01:30. Nijkamp has a sharp ear for weird wave and gritty electro. As an Operator resident and a curator of the upcoming compilation album ‘Het Vreemd’, he shares ‘80s inspired electronics from the Dutch underground. Expect obscure Dutch treats and raw energy on the dancefloor. We finish the night with @zwits_ as his alter ego: spastic joy from 01:30 till 03:00. Spastic Joy (also known as Zwits) brings a mix of wave, electronic and punk music to the floor. From gloomy darkwave to high energy punk sets and everything together.

Time waves autumn fest is happening pretty soon now. The event is split in two parts. Where during the day/ evening from 16:00 till 22:00 the overall theme will be live acts. But also food, markets and we will start off with a listening set from: @sannekekleingeld A local dj we are very excited about that will play from 16:00 till 18:00. After that: @thevelcro.band will be playing from 18:30 till 19:15. THE VELCRO is een fantastische band die ontstaan is na een surfsessie. Niet gek dat hun muziek een mix is van een wilde geest van Psychedelic Surf-punk. Het resultaat? Een fris en diverse sound die door de speakers knalt wanneer je THE VELCRO hoort. De Haagse band brengt een unieke mix met een mysterieuze vibe. After the Velcro we have: @luisurreal from 20:00 till 20:45 Glasgow-born Lui Surreal is a multi-dimensional act shaping their own lane in the underground. With a catalogue that dives into love, addiction and transformation, each release reshapes the torn edges of post-punk, unfolding through cinematic visuals and unpredictable live performance. After that we finish the day part with @badtimebadtimebadtime from 21:15 till 22:00. bad%me is a one-man show comprising of singer/guitarist playing over backing tracks. The music is a mix of electronic beats and pulsa%ng bass, accompanied by wavy synths, electric punk guitar and vocals.
