Our Newest synth Mars Roveriser by Isnātses. We will have some of these with us this weekend at RiB at REinsTate Project, 16th May. Comes as a kit or fully built by us and is a stand alone synth powered either by 9v battery or power supply.
We have based our design of the PCB on the shape of Mars twin Rovers (Opportunity-Oppy and Spirit) and the artwork is hand drawn by Lisa McKendrick inspired by photos of Mars found on NASA website. The sounds are esoteric in their strangeness and contain all the elements you might imagine from the far away mysterious planet. Thereās a good range of sounds, some more sparse and others more brutal. The sounds are what you might expect from a Rover on Mars as itās intermittent movement suggests. The range of sounds created by the extreme dust storms and other wind noises are also something we wanted the unit to have, as well as evoking vast space and glitchy digital transmission of data.

Mars Roveriser is our latest synth. It is an experimental granular crackle noise/echo percussion synth inspired by the Mars rover robots Spirit and Opportunity. The sound evokes the dust and chaos of the red planet and the interplanetary transmission of data, conjuring resonance through micro textures. The sounds are often sparse and sometimes even musical, there is a spacious echoey feel to the sounds as we wanted to capture the vastness of Mars.
