One of the best parts of the Tucson International Mariachi Conference is watching students encourage each other to step outside their comfort zone. During a group exercise on one of the final days of the conference, this student volunteered to solo and absolutely embraced the moment.

A beautiful moment for the mariachi community at TIMC 2026 as generations of musicians, students, educators, and families came together to celebrate Jose Hernandez being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
A heartfelt homenaje was performed live on stage, composed by Josue “Eddy” Lopez — bringing together musical tributes inspired by many of Jose Hernandez’s most recognizable recordings.
