Seasons change, but legacy stays the same.
Freedom Ink was built over 20 years ago by Tim Beck, a world-renowned tattooer whose name and influence reach far beyond Peoria. After his passing in early 2024, what he created continues to grow stronger every day.
Tim Beck put Peoria, Illinois on the map for world-class tattooing. He accomplished his goal—and now we carry that forward every day out of respect for his legacy.
Together, Tim and Charlotte were pioneers in the Peoria Warehouse District—purchasing the commercial real estate where Freedom Ink has been located since 2016 and helping shape it into the thriving community it is today. Peoria was always home to him, and it remains the foundation of everything we stand for.
Now, we’re building the next chapter after the previous tattooers of Freedom Ink decided to start a company of their own.
With support from artists and friends across the globe, we’re bringing in top-tier guest artists while we take the time to build a full-time team. This isn’t something we rush—it’s something we build with purpose.
The legacy continues.
Stay tuned for next week’s guest artist announcement

To be a tattooist, one must be able to translate the most beautiful and difficult feelings that surround the human heart into works of art that adorn the human body. These are collaborations between the individual getting the tattoo and the artist, who listens to their perspective and brings it to life. Tim Beck had mastered and continued to master this amazing dance between people. Thousands of people have thankfully had the opportunity not only to experience his great talent and genius as an artist, but even more importantly, they had a chance to meet a man whose commitment to Christ helped change him into a husband and father many would look up to. One of Tim’s favorite drawings was “The Rock of Ages.” The drawing depicts a woman surrounded by a stormy sea whose only hope is the Cross of Christ, which she holds for dear life and eternal salvation. This was a journey that our beloved Tim would ultimately take. Tim valiantly fought colon cancer even as he continued to work to provide for his family and help his customers ultimately get where they were going. Today we are sad that our brother, friend, father, and son are not with us anymore, but we rejoice that we are confident that Tim now stands with the true rock of ages in his Lord Jesus. Thank you for journeying with us and thinking and praying for Tim and all of us here at Freedom Ink. We continue his legacy of serving our community and exemplifying tattoo excellence. May God's peace go with us all.
Sincerely
