At a chance meeting in a Sydney import record shop (remember those?), two young guitarists, JEREMY SAWKINS & TIM ROLLINSON, struck up an instant connection over their shared love of jazz & rock greats.
Since then, both have built diverse & dynamic musical careers, each releasing albums under their own names & collaborating widely. Jeremy has performed with Wanderlust & Roger Frampton’s Intersection, while Tim co-founded Dig (Directions In Groove) & more recently has played with Clayton Doley, Vince Jones & Phillip Johnston’s Greasy Chicken Orchestra.
Aside from the occasional duo performance, Jeremy & Tim have rarely shared the stage - until a recent trip to New York City, where they recorded an album with longtime friend Adam Armstrong on bass & Jonathan Mele on drums. For this performance at Butchers Brew, they’ll be joined by NIC CECIRE & BRETT HIRST.
Their influences have evolved over the years, yet the core inspiration that began in that record store remains: Jim Hall, Wes Montgomery, the ECM sound, Hendrix, John McLaughlin & many others.
