Well it looks like I forgot to take pictures of any people, food, or anything Cable Street related, but I had a lovely time in NY taking pictures of the sky, and am now officially an Off Broadway composer/lyricist!
@unfortunatemusical is back in London! And with it my official West End debút. 🕺🏼
@auburnjamnikki@auburnjamjoe@msrobyngrant have worked wonders and every moment of the chaos is now clean and audible, for the first time in 7 years! (Still chaos.)

Very proud of this show that @alexkanefsky@adamlenson and I have been working on since 2018..! 👴👴
The thing that never ceases to amaze me about the story is that, while the Battle of Cable Street was only a symbolic victory, it was when people took radical action to ignore the politics of division, and stand up for one another regardless of political beliefs (see the amazing story in slide 3) that they were able to effect genuine social change.

Have had so much fun all year, creating this show with @msrobyngrant@brumhippodrome@anthonycylau and the music department WIZARDS @auburnjamnikki and @auburnjamjoe
And now we are OPEN with an insanely talented cast and crew.
The score is equal parts AC/DC, Twinkly bells, Marimba-bats, Christmas carols, Slade and David Bowie and it is one very madcap hour.

That's Cable Street over and out for 2024! There's a quote in the show which is from the historical record, and sums up the whole idea:
“the population in East London, consisting of different races and creeds, had lived together in peace and harmony for generations until the organised fascist provocation of race against race.”
Feeling very tired and grateful, and ready to get my head properly into a silly one-hour long musical about a red furry monster, and not think about politics for a bit.
