Mother's Day is weird for me. My mom died in 1996, and she was a depressive agoraphobic who sometimes didn't interact with anyone for days. Sad to learn of Koji Suzuki's passing at 68. Few people have had such a major impact on horror literature and film. I was fortunate to see him when he was a guest of honor at the World Horror Convention in San Francisco in 2006, where he graciously signed a copy of Loop for me.
