Van den Boogerd has been active as an art critic since 1988. From 1993 to 1995, he was chief editor of Metropolis M. He contributed to numerous books and has published articles in art magazines such as HP/De Tijd, Parkett, frieze magazine, De Witte Raaf, Art Papers, and Artforum.
