New year. New brand. New vision: We are proud to officially introduce TIGLFF | Queer Film & Arts.
This evolution honors our roots while expanding beyond the limits of “Film”, “Gay”, and “Lesbian”, to reflect better the breadth of queer art, media, and community in Tampa Bay today. After decades of resilience, adaptation, and care through changing cultural and political landscapes, it became clear that the Tampa Bay International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, or Friends of the Festival 501(c)(3) needed to be reimagined to shift from surviving to thriving.
Informed by years of community-centered programming, the success of the Tampa Bay Trans Film Festival, other organizations such as PFLAG & GLSEN, and the growth of grassroots organizing across Tampa Bay, TIGLFF moves forward with intention, sustainability, and resistance at its core.
What’s ahead in 2026:
- Monthly film screenings all year
- 3rd Sundays at Green Light Cinema & more!
- Quarterly Community mixers and art events
- TIGLFF’s Trans Pride & Film Festival: March 26th to 29th
- TIGLFF’s 37th Annual LGBTQ+ Film Festival - September 4th to 13th
A new website is on the way. If you’re curious about our rebrand in the meantime, check out our current site witht the links in our bio. We invite you to explore our pages, meet the people behind the work, and find a way to get involved that feels right to you.

As part of TIGLFF’s rebrand, what began as the Tampa Bay Transgender Film Festival is evolving into TIGLFF’s Trans Pride and Film Festival, a full Pride weekend across St Pete and Tampa, March 26 to 29, 2026.
Films are still at the heart of this festival, but we are expanding into something deeper. More community events. More space to gather. More ways to celebrate trans joy, creativity, and connection. We are so excited to be building this weekend alongside incredible partner organizations and a growing list of events that truly reflect our community.
As trans leaders who have been doing this work in Tampa Bay for years, creating Trans Pride right now feels deeply emotional. With everything happening politically, choosing joy, visibility, and care for each other is an act of resistance. And doing it together makes it even more powerful.
This weekend includes:
- in person film screenings and receptions with @greenlightstpete
- Night of 1000 Oscars: a dance party and gender ball fundraiser for @swamp.bois gender affirming care fund in partnership with @cf_ballroom_collective and @dykenitestpete
- a Queer Fandom Art Market in partnership with @attic.cat
- and the return of our annual Trans Community Picnic
We want you with us. Whether you come to celebrate, volunteer, donate, or simply spread the word, this festival exists because of community.
Proudly,
Trans Pride & Film Fest Volunteer Committee
*edit: we’ve noticed some timing type is on these graphics - the most accurate info will always be found on our website.
