I wanted to create some special illustrations for some of my favorite people for Mother’s Day!! And in the chaos of scouring Instagram for pictures, and getting it done in time, it didnt occur to me I was forgetting her newest addition, a sweet 5 month old who is perfection. 🥹
Needless to say.. I will be taking that picture back and making it right 😵💫😵💫✨️

I got to lead a paint & sip at my kids’ preschool, guiding 15 incredible moms through a lemon painting designed by our amazing teacher, Rachael.

I encouraged everyone to choose their own background color and make it their own, and it was so fun to see how different each piece turned out. Art is meant to feel personal, and this really made that come through.

I’ve always loved my art classes, AND I was a strong academic student. Both can exist at the same time. This is not to brag...it’s about breaking the idea that choosing a creative path means you weren’t “smart enough” to do something else.
I once had someone tell me that I must not have been smart enough to pursue a career other than fashion design. 😵💫 Easily one of the most ignorant conversations I’ve had.
Passion is what drives your direction. I was great at math, but I wasn’t passionate about it, and that matters.
And to anyone who relates to this trend, this isn’t judgment. Success isn’t defined by grades...we all know that. But let’s stop pretending creativity is the “easy” route. It’s not. It’s a choice, and it’s an intentional one.
