The journey of a single piece of jewellery can be fascinating.
Where it was made, who bought it and gave it to whom, what it meant, where it ended up, and its talismanic purpose to the owner or owners along the way.
The three birds Flying South Necklace was one of the first pieces of jewellery I designed, and my mother was one of the first people to own one. Only a few years ago, I overheard her telling someone that the three birds represented her three children. I have since shared this story with many of our customers and friends, and these birds have become symbols of devotion, serenading in honour of loved ones. Thanks, mum.
