From a 🌊 swiftwater rescuer getting chewed up by a nasty rapid, to ⚓ military operators moving between vessels in rough seas, to 🚓 law enforcement running jet skis at speed — these are all environments where you need hands-free air to breathe 😮💨 and reliable communications 🎧📻. And if someone takes a hit and goes unconscious, even a small window ⏱️ to self-rescue or be rescued can make the difference.
That’s why we love seeing 💡 new products being created, tested, and refined 🧪 to solve real problems that exist in the field.
👥 Dr. Steve Glassey from
@PublicSafetyInstitute_global and Jason Quinn from
@TheRealResQ worked with the prototype Water Rescue Breathing Apparatus (WRBA) by
@Tiger_Performance_ , configured specifically on the
@force6rescue PFD and
@officialicaro2000 helmet. This is not a dive system 🚫🤿 — it’s a next-generation, surface-level respiratory protection platform built specifically for water rescue, marine, and military professionals.
With its patented ambient air valve ⚙️, the WRBA breathes ambient air at the surface and only draws from the 1.2-liter high-pressure cylinder when submerged 🌊. The system also integrates full VOX (voice-operated) radio communications and hearing technology 🎙️👂 (not shown), designed by
@invisioofficial , delivering hands-free, automatic respiratory protection that can continue to function even if the user is rendered unconscious.
This kind of innovation matters — because you can’t plan every impact 💥, but you can design equipment that gives rescuers and operators a fighting chance when things go sideways.
