₊˚ʚ 🐍|| Happy birthday, Baizhu! 25/04 | | The pharmacy was quiet except for the soft scratch of Baizhu's brush and the faint rustle of papers. Midnight hit with no announcement, just another minute slipping by bent over his desk, glasses low on his nose and mind still busy with work. For a brief moment Sage watched from the doorway, then quietly stepped closer, gently placing a small cake on an empty spot. He glanced up at her, surprise then replaced with something softer as she leans in to hug him. "Happy birthday, my love..." She whispers, holding onto him just a tiny bit longer. Baizhu chuckles softly, his hand gently brushing through her hair, work completely forgotten. "My dear, it's midnight... You should be asleep." Sage pulls back slightly, meeting his gaze with a little smile. "I wanted to be first." He laughed at that, that usual soft laugh when something genuinely made him happy. "Of course you did, thank you my darling." He whispered, leaning in to softly kiss her forehead before turning to the cake. "I do suppose i'm getting old, huh?" He murmers with a sly smile, knowing this would get a rise out of her. She gently nudged him with a chuckle, then resting her hand on his. "So long as you're not turning into dust yet, you're never old in my eyes. 29 is a beautiful age for a beautiful human like you. Their hands always interlaced as if afraid to lose track of the other, grass stains on Sage's new dress, Pom's hair full of leaves and sticks, and their cheeks hurting from smiling so much. They had made a promise the way children do, simple and earnest. Sage sadly is not a leader, and unfortunately i don't own Kokofish myself but she's been one of my favorites for a long time.. When they parted, he rested his forehead against hers, smiling softly. “I promise,” Baizhu murmured, “to spend my life making you the happiest girl in all of Teyvat, my Sage.” She laughed softly through the sting of tears, leaning into him. “I already am,” she replied. “I have you, Qiqi… Xinyi.” Baizhu shook his head, a fondness in his eyes that went far deeper than words.
