Last year, Tico held a fundraiser to support our partners at Finca San Luis and the La Montaña de Tarrazu Micromill in Costa Rica. As a result, we raised over $2,000 to support the daycare facility, La Casa de Alegría!
Since 2019, we’ve partnered with Daniela Gutiérrez and her family in Tarrazú, Costa Rica, purchasing coffee from their farm, Finca San Luis, each year. Beyond growing exceptional coffee, Daniela and her family are deeply committed to caring for the community that makes the harvest possible.
Last month, we took a trip to Costa Rica to use the funds raised to purchase school supplies and provide extra help at the daycare. Thanks to the support from our community here in the Bay Area, we were able to make these efforts possible. This is the story behind our single-origin coffee, Finca San Luis! Delicious beans, with a greater purpose behind every purchase of a bag.
Through coffee, we can create a positive change. The Casa de Alegría is just one of our initiatives towards giving back to the coffee lands. As a responsible and sustainable company, we want to contribute to the communities where our coffee comes from and not use coffee just as a transaction, but as a vehicle to empower, protect, & nourish!
