I was born and raised on the island of Saint Lucia, and that’s where my love for ‘big people parties’, Carnival, soca and Dennery Segment really began. That energy between like-minded people laughing at inside jokes and puns through music is unparalleled! Coming together to celebrate life and enjoy being who we are, that feeling, is a major part of who I am and why I celebrate my culture the way I do. 🎉
I first started Instagram because I wanted to make a Tumblr board… but with my own pictures. It was mostly views and aesthetic shots, but over time, it became something much more me. A space where I can share both aesthetic and everyday moments.
One thing about me… I love putting outfits together and creating a vibe. Mixing pieces that might seem totally opposite but somehow work together, is my favourite way to turn a basic outfit into one that makes you look twice. A core memory is my dad teaching me how to sew my own doll clothes, so naturally, I began using any shirt, any old rag to make the flyest fits for my dolls. 😭
My page is also a form of reclaiming my social space. Instagram can sometimes make creators feel like everything has to be perfect, and while I love a polished moment (like these photos lol), I get just as much joy sharing the mundane; my lunch, a random tree I walked past, huji pics or a moment that just felt good.
Whether I’m in front of the camera or behind it, I’m always creating something worth capturing.
