There are rivalries. And then there are partnerships so deep that when they split, the whole scene feels it. Paul “SnakeBite” Duarte began competing in professional Halo in 2006 at just 11 years old. For the better part of two decades, he and Royal2 were inseparable — the most dangerous duo in the history of this game, winning championships across multiple titles, multiple organisations, multiple eras. OpTic Gaming. Counter Logic Gaming. FaZe Clan. Wherever they went, trophies followed. Royal2 (@mathewfiorante ) has now joined @shopifyrebellion . @snakebitefps_ sits on @luminongaming — joining Trippy, Taulek, and Precision, the same Precision who won four majors in Gears of War before switching to Halo. The team that already finished second at Birmingham without him. Now, heading into Atlanta, Royal2 with Shopify Rebellion and Luminon find themselves in the same bracket. The same building. Luminon were already dangerous, except this time, they come armed with the one player who knows Royal2’s game better than anyone alive: SnakeBite. The bracket has a built‑in storyline nobody scripted. Halo Championship Series is live May 15–17 from the Georgia World Congress Center. #HaloChampionshipSeries #LuminonGaming #ShopifyRebellion #HaloEsports #DreamHackAtlanta

Most Challengers teams are chasing the CDL dream. Project Notorious is trying to reclaim it. The Atlanta squad — Beans, Diamondcon, EriKBooM, and Snoopy, coached by Joshh — isn’t built from prospects or hopefuls. These are players who already lived the CDL life: franchise rosters, Major stages, franchise paychecks. They got caught in the roster shuffle and ended up on the outside looking in, so heading into CDL what can we expect? Find out all about it and read more on the different teams competing over on our subreddit at /r/Thunderpick/ #ProjectNotorious #CallOfDuty #CDL #DreamHackAtlanta #Esports

FURIA coach Sid “Sidde” Macedo has offered a clearer picture of how the team is processing Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo’s retirement plans, saying the roster hasn’t given up on persuading their IGL to stay. Speaking to Offstage, he explained that the squad intends to keep pushing until the very last moment. "I won’t hide the fact that every time he thinks about retiring or sets a deadline, we try to push the boundaries. We’ll keep trying to convince him to play next year too, though ultimately, it’s his decision, and he’s already made it. Whenever this topic comes up, we all try to persuade him to stay a little longer. It’s hard to imagine the team without FalleN. Of course, sooner or later the transition will happen, but that’s not what we wanted." - Sid "Sidde" Macedo Macedo also revealed that he had advance knowledge of the announcement, as part of his responsibility to prepare the organisation for life after their legendary captain. While FURIA have begun exploring potential successors, he stressed that the process remains in its early stages. "I knew about even before the big announcement at IEM Rio, I was in the loop because we were planning the team’s future. I’m glad it happened in Rio; there were a lot of memorable emotions. When he stood in front of the fans, it was very hard to hold back the emotions, even knowing about it in advance—the players felt the same way. It’s impossible to hold back tears during an announcement like that. […] FalleN will finish out the year, and we’re already thinking about transitioning to a new player. I can’t name any names yet, since a lot can change. We aren’t signing anyone just yet; we’re simply scouting and noting down candidates for the future." - Sid "Sidde" Macedo FalleN’s emotional announcement at IEM Rio 2026 left fans, and even fellow pros like Danil “molodoy” Golubenko, in tears before he even confirmed his retirement timeline. Despite the electric atmosphere, the Brazilian icon was unable to secure a home soil title, a surprising gap in an otherwise storied career, as he never managed to lift an international LAN trophy in Brazil. #CS2 #PGLAstana #FalleN #EsportsBrazil #EsportsNews

The 2025 off-season didn’t just take players from OMiT. It took their entire championship core. Mamba went to G2 Minnesota. Mack and Vivid landed at Cloud9 New York. Craze made his CDL debut with the Carolina Royal Ravens. Three different organisations. One gutted roster. Most organisations don’t survive that kind of off-season. OMiT rebuilt. This weekend, Aspekt, Denza, DK, and Ethan — coached by Bance — step onto the floor of the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta as one of four Challengers teams in the CDL Major 3 Pro-Am, competing directly against all twelve CDL franchise teams. They didn’t get handed this spot. OMiT Noir grinded through the expanded European and Middle East Elite Season 3 bracket — a region that for 2026 was made deeper and more unpredictable than ever — and finished second to punch their ticket. No shortcuts. No reputation carrying them through. Just wins. The four Challengers squads in Atlanta bring real unpredictability to the event, and OMiT Noir might be the most unknown of the bunch. That’s exactly what makes them dangerous. Nobody has a full read on this roster. Nobody knows their ceiling. And in a Pro-Am format where one series can change a career, that’s a serious advantage. There’s $365,000 on the line in Atlanta, split across the full 16-team field — CDL franchises included. For four players who qualified through European Challengers and are about to face the best teams in the world, the money almost isn’t the point. The point is what a strong showing does for the OMiT name, for this roster’s futures, and for the story of an organisation that keeps rebuilding and keeps producing. CDL Major 3 runs May 15–17 at DreamHack Atlanta. Stream live on the official Call of Duty YouTube and Twitch channels. #CallOfDuty #CDL2026 #OMiT #DreamHackAtlanta #CDLMajor3
