Honored to have my painting Mt. Carmel Spring available for acquisition at the Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum through the Thunderbird Foundation in Mt. Carmel, UT. Some works simply belong in a certain space — and I’m grateful this one found its home here and is now available to collectors. The Foundation and the Dixon Country gatherings have deeply shaped my growth as an artist. Hearing artists like Russell Case, Ray Roberts, Mian Situ, Robert Goldman, Peggi Kroll Roberts, and Glenn Renell speak and demonstrate left a lasting mark on me. I’m deeply grateful and honored to have my work exhibited in a place that has given me so much direction. If you can, plan a trip to the Museum — to experience not only the art, but the extraordinary landscape that continues to inspire generations of painters. @thunderbirdfoundation #antonnowels #contemporaryimpressionism @scottsdaleartschool #maynarddixonlegacymuseum #oilpainting #artcollector

🎨This week our spotlight is on artist Robert Goldman: Robert Goldman paints with a vibrant palette rooted in the tradition of Impressionism and shaped by a modernist sensibility. Influenced by West Coast figurative masters such as Richard Diebenkorn and Wayne Thiebaud — and inspired by Maynard Dixon — his work bridges classical landscape painting and contemporary structure. Mentored by Ray Roberts, Matt Smith, Bill Anton, Phil Starke, Wayne Thiebaud, and Wolf Kahn, Robert’s paintings reflect honesty, directness, and exceptional craftsmanship — each one a true legacy piece for collectors of fine American art. Experience the work at the Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum in Southern Utah. ➡️thunderbirdfoundation.com #WesternArt #AmericanArt #LandscapePainting #FineArtCollectors #SouthernUtah

This “ Sugar Knoll “ series by watercolorist Carolyn Lord would make a wonderful grouping. This iconic formation is right across the road from the Maynard Dixon property here in Mt. Carmel- this formation was painted by Dixon many times and by almost every artist who comes here - Carolyn’s unique modernist approach is exciting and a great example of her individual style. The sale of this painting “ Mountains in Sunset Light” 1927 was the painting that was the impetus for purchase of the Maynard Dixon property in Mt. Carmel, Utah by the Bingham family in 1998. Paul had just sold the painting in the L. A. area when that same day the property was offered to him by famed watercolor artist Milford Zornes who had purchased the property from Edith Dixon in 1963. The painting is a great example of Dixon’s work from that very productive year in his career.
