We're not typically one to get on the pride month merch bandwagon, but team member Amanda Branch (@skamanda42 ) wanted to put something special together in time for USWDGC, and since there are so many communities in need of support, it seemed like a great opportunity to toss these up for anyone who wants to let others know they're safe with you. The art on the jersey is from a pair of watercolor paintings Amanda did, so there is some blending of the colors (that was intentional, if not entirely possible to control - watercolor is a fickle mistress 😅). I've played against Jami in tournaments, and it was probably the most stressful event I've ever played. Not because Jami is stressful to be around - she's a lot of fun! She DOES, however, have the uncanny habit of canning a putt from 90 feet out, when her opponent is trying to gain a stroke on her. 😅 When one of our own needed help, I was so happy to see Jami stepped up to give aid. That's exactly the sort of person we like to have in our family.

Gabe has such a great DIY ethic. If they want to do something, they figure out how, and they do it. That works out well on the course, just like it does when converting a subcompact into a camper (seriously Gabe, you parked at my house and I STILL have no idea how you managed to fit in that thing! 🤣). They're going to be traveling a lot less in the coming year, but we're just as excited to see how they continue to grow, and watch their rating continue to climb!

Putting these recaps together, one of the hardest parts is finding pictures of everyone, that would be good for it. For Amy, it was a no brainer. It HAD to be her and Rio. If you know Amy, it is impossible for you to miss how much she loves and cares for her dogs, and the ones still looking for their forever homes. To say she cares for her own with all her heart is as much an understatement as saying the sun is a little warm. I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing her best friend, being that close to her. When she started posting that she was getting out to play again, and remembering the times she'd shared those spaces with Rio, it brought happy tears to my eyes. Grief is one of the hardest journeys we can travel in life, and to be able to stand up in the middle of it, and bring herself not just to play again, but to compete? That is a type of strength that few ever show, and it was awe inspiring to witness, even from afar.
In Rio's memory, if you ever have the opportunity to rescue a dog from a shelter (and if you're ever looking for one to rescue from, Amy frequently posts dogs in need!), please do. Even if you can't give them as wonderful a life as Amy gave Rio, you can still give them a life of joy, and of love.

Okay, so every now and then the team throws me for a loop. I posted that Katelyn had the most rounds this year, and this post is a correction to that - because when I went to do Ember's recap, not only did she have more tournaments, but if I also included the leagues, you wouldn't be able to read it! Kids these days. Where do they get the energy? 😅
Anyway, this is Ember. She had one of the most stressful kinds of coming out situations we can possibly go through, and despite it going exactly the opposite of what every trans person would hope, she kept her chin high, stayed true to herself and her faith, and allowed herself to blossom into the woman who's ready to take the world by storm. Your found family couldn't be more proud of you, Ember!

Ally team captain Audrey was our other big injury this year. Spine injuries are no joke, and she's been making a comeback from a pretty bad one! Never one to sit idle, she's been working on her stand-stills, and will be back out there competing as soon as it's safe to do so!
